"Ank o." Namine said with a cute smile, which this time she showed she actually had dimples.

Larxene couldn't help but smile and giggle a little at the sight, which made her pause a little, studying Namine's face.

Was something still capable of being heartwarming if you had no heart to warm? Memories usually stood in for emotions with Nobodies, but Larxene's Other hadn't particularly liked babies, even if she thought the sound of them crying was oddly funny.

Maybe Vexen's experiment was working, and she was reacting to whatever heart the now infantile Namine was forming. Whatever the reason, she liked how Namine was making her feel. Larxene picked up Namine and hugged her.

"Whatever it's doing to your heart, regression certainly made you cuter, at least." She chuckled, cuddling Namine happily.

Namine hugged Larxene tightly, and surprisingly kissed her on the cheek.

Larxene blinked in surprise at the kiss, touching her cheek and looking at the happy Namine she was holding.

"...You know, maybe I've been looking at being your mommy from the wrong angle." Larxene said quietly, studying Namine's face and the impossibly innocent baby blue eyes staring at her so trustingly.

She'd been certain she was going to hate this assignment. Hate, hate, hate from start to finish, grudgingly picking up after Namine until they got a heart and then abandoning the responsibility foisted on her by Vexen. Babies were a lot of noise and mess, and really, who needed that, especially when you couldn't feel the emotions Larxene had always considered vital for a mother not to strangle their baby on the fourth night it woke her up at some unholy hour to be fed or changed.

To be fair, Namine could be fussy and noisy, and messy, but there was something else about her...maybe it was what people liked so much about happy babies, a sense of indiscriminate, pure love and joy directed at the world in general. More than that, Namine wasn't just a baby...this was her baby she had in her arms, and Namine knew that even if Larxene had been doubtful.

Ironically, in this state without a heart, Larxene was more certain of being loved than she'd ever been as a human, and she quietly kissed Namine on the forehead, offering the girl a little smile. At moments like these, when nobody was looking, it was nice not to worry if being gentle would have consequences down the road.

"Mommy loves you, sweetie." She cooed quietly, stroking Namine's hair.

Namine gave Larxene a gental smile, and also a quick giggle. Then, with her best effort, said "'Amine uvs Mama too."

Larxene smiled at the regressed teen in her lap and took hold of Namine's hands to steady her, bouncing the girl a little on her knee.

"I wonder if Vexen will let me keep you like this after he gets what he wants..." She murmured thoughtfully. Earlier, she would have been glad if Vexen would take Namine off her hands as soon as possible, but she appeared to have crossed some sort of threshold in the time she'd had alone with Namine today. Maybe it was a reaction to the heart Namine was almost certainly developing even now, maybe it was just changing her attitude because she couldn't change her situation, but Larxene was looking forward to taking care of Namine in the next few months.

Odd, perhaps, given that her primary source of amusement was causing things pain and discomfort, but Namine represented a new possibility; Larxene's life before this experiment had been primarily missions followed by reading all day about unpleasant things happening to other people. Just playing a little with Namine like this was making her feel more than she had in years, and it would add some variety to her life, a thing that had been lacking sorely since becoming a Nobody.

As for the sadism, well, she could always find someone else to torment between time with Namine and missions.

Marluxia then walked into the touching moment, he, too, suddenly feeling what they were as well. "I guess the experiment is working." he said, placing a hand on his chest.

"It...feels good, doesn't it?" Larxene said, looking over at Marluxia thoughtfully. "Even more than just feeling at all, it feels...good being around her." She hugged Namine. "Is that all because she's developing a heart? Shouldn't that just effect her and not us...?"

She hadn't remembered Vexen mentioning anywhere that this could help HER feel things, just that Namine would develop a heart from this treatment. Whatever this reaction was, Larxene wasn't complaining.
