So what your saying is that no one has ever done anything to help another person for a reason other then personal gain?, that is so arrogent and egotistical that its not funny, I hate to break it to you, but some people actually CARE about others, and on occasion put the others lives before their own.

Do you think that people like malcom x, martin luther king, mother teresa, princess Di, ghandi, and others like them did what they did for personal gain?, as you so said?, if what you believe is true, then I must say, Humanity has been doomed since its birth.

And yeah, thats right, I posted my reply, ie "burn" to yours for personal gain... oh wait, no I didnt, I posted it because I cant see hating on someone for talking about the fact that they save lives, not to make myself feel better, by trying to tear someone down, as with the post that led to mine.

its fine that you disagree with people posting the fact that they help others, its your right to agree or disagree, but theres no reason to say things like "go read a book" and stuff like that.

its one thing to disagree with someone, but its a whole nother thing,when you try to tear someone down, instead of just voicing your opinion on the subject they talk about, theres no reason to try to bring down the person you disagree with, when you can jsay something like " I just dont agree with that" but why do that when you can call them stupid at the same time, as you did to Dan?.

Sites like this are for acceptance, not for harshing on people that you dont agree with, Im posting this, not to make you feel bad, but to make a point, the only gain I hope to get from this is knowing that I have stood up for someone who is a hero, after someone hated on them, because of the singular fact that they said that they are a volunteer firefighter.

Dan is a hero, who deserves our respect, and definatlety doesnt deserve to be harshed on for talking about the fact that they save lives, as I said before Im not here for any gain, or to start a fight, but if you disagree with what we're talking about, then say so, theres no reason to rag on someone instead.

Bro. Bro. BRO. I don't think she was meaning to rag on him. She just doesn't see the point of letting people know. I can understand that. This post almost made me rage just because of how excessively large it was for something so stupid. Look, I could care less either way. I'm not posting my view on this, but calm down. I'm almost positive she didn't mean it that way.... And I thought I was the only rager on this forum.

That is a good point speedcat, everyone who helps others does get something out of it, the feeling that you did good, and helped someone else, I was wrong, people do help for personal gain, but not just for the reasons dpgirl listed.
