Ok so WHAT THE CRAP HAPPENED!? I remember when this was like THE place to Rp and talk but somewhere along the line people have stopped talking with each other and the rp forum is fading out! its god damn infuriating!! and I'll tell you why. I first joined back in 08 before I lost my password to my original profile and back them I was just starting to rp. I sucked at first but over time I got better. I started talking with other members and made some really great friends!!! but them over time one by one they vanished. the rp's started dyeing any ideas I had for rp's were either blown off ( possibly because of the fact that I do anime based rps and the anime in question might not be well know ) and if someone does join there post's are short as shit and there very demanding of me! I don't mind being the caretaker hell as of lately I love it! but when the other rper just post's one liners EVERY damn time and those one liners don't really give anything to the plot other them I WANT YOU TO DO THIS BECUAS YOUR THE MOMMY then its freaking annoying! and when ever i'm asked tp rp by someone new they Almost always expect me to be the parent with out even asking me! I'v been quiet about this for almost 5 years and its very sad to see the place I started rping and making friends turn into a place that is in my honesty opinion full of people that are out for them self and wont compromise or even be decent enough to put any effort in there posts. granted I have been know to post small before but I don't ONLY do small post's I mix it up based on what I have to work with from my partners posts and I sometimes can't come up with anything! I'm starting to think that all the effort I put into trying to get on hear as much as I can which is not as often as I'd like do to my limited access o a computer isn't even worth it anymore.

again this is me just venting and slightly hoping that someone will take a interest in my issues and maybe give me there point of view on my issues. Im only human and I like hearing others advice. so if your actually reading this then thanks. and if you actually posted your advice on hear then thanks from the bottom of my heart.

I do that myself, mix my answer based on the others post. I do believe it might help if you explain the idea to people first about it and who is going to be the caretaker? I dont blame you for speaking your opinion, but i might suggest RPing with people that have been on this site for a long period of time. Maybe with me?

CK32 most of the good or quality role players here are busy with their lives, or are already involved with other good role players. I consider myself at least a quality player and will post a lot in my posts, until my partner shows a lack of effort. There's a difference between situational posts and lack of effort.

*waits for food*

"Sarah what you want?"

"eggs".

The majority of the active players have dumb ideas, everyone wants to be a baby, or it's a bunch of pony bs.

It also doesn't help that the better roleplays who are active only want lesbian/female only roleplay.

Kakarot, i know that. As i said, it was a "might suggest" meaning it could be. And as far as lesbian/female and pony BS goes, i'd say that that is like most of the RPs........
And as far as dumb ideas go i also agree. As lack of effort, i do notice that there are people posting a wall of text&interaction, and getting a sentence or two in return.
Returning to dumb ideas, so far i have not yet encountered any "dumb idea" but that might be the case of me only having asked a few people to do a RP with me yet, and i tend to let them come up with an idea and build on that.

Go look at the roleplay recruitment thread and just have fun.

And what I mean by dumb idea, are things that don't make sense, have nothing to do with a media they are using whether it be cartoon/movie/etc, or the literal idea is just dumb like "big strong guy is going to be baby for no reason"

As far as i am concerned, i generally look at the title. But thanks for the idea, i need a good laugh and am out of funny things on the internet....

And the "dumb idea" i understand. Somethings such things are just confusing.... And i do not read such things anyway. Or ideas like "person becomes incontinent due to an accident that only affected the nether regions".

I'm not one to talk on that but I think the pony trend is the fact more people on here likes the series more at this time. Besides the same can be said on how Bleach and Naruto series based rps had taken this site over awhile back but no one bitched about that take over

Anyway I hate to sound like a prick but well alot of the really crappy rpers aren't here anymore which I'm glad even though I was really bad at first atleast I improved and made a effort to change while most seemed content to stay on a very low tier on the rp food chain. Also we got rid of alot of those elitist rpers. I can understand a need to rant and want better rpers/rps but they was fairly elitist in that regard and was in threads they vented was borderline troll in nature to most people unless they 100 percent was with them

I don't mind the ones who was good and ranted as long as its reasonable

I don't usually get involved with these but I should probably do so now. I personally hate the whole pony thing and I wish it would go away but it's not , so I'll just ignore it and wait it out. I agree that short posts are a nuisance but they always have been , speaking from experience there have always been 'bad' rpers. But we just put up with them, if I'm met with someone who posts short I either don't rp or tell them , they get the message eventually. If it's between two people and they both have short posts then leave them be , the rp is for their own enjoyment , not yours.

Moving onto the idea the community is dying , I've seen and herd this countless times. The community is always changing and altering. I for one am never part of it but it always recovers and someone new takes place of the old users. Change happens , all we can do is change with it. As for the care-taking role I have experience this first hand and I must say , it's god awful and I think if anyone is caught like this then you should negotiate and not just go along , it makes both of you worse off. I must say I've only had two people bug me to post , one just didn't drop it and got told off my another user who was a friend of mine, and the second one kept quiet after I told him off. I guess to get a good rp you have to have some back bone on this site.

As for some advice.....be polite, considerate and be firm. That's all.

To add to the whole 'dumb' idea thing , a idea might b generic or overused or just plain silly , but it's what they want, there's no harm in that. If you want original ideas though well either make the effort to think them up on your own , if not then keep quiet and don't complain.

Rye the problem with letting them do their thing and whatever, is that new people see them playing with each other, and they begin to think that is the norm. To be honest the players who play dumb seem to be younger than the age limit required to be on this site, being that they usually can't spell either, but that's another issue. Also, when the only roleplayers continue to repeatedly play with themselves, it is VERY discouraging to inspiring roleplayers to see a bunch of crappy roleplays.

It's like being excited and walking into a new place to see if people share your interests or are doing something fun, and all you read is "Pony roleplay, pony roleplay, pony roleplay, baby me, baby me, baby me, baby me".

I understand your stance of letting them do their thing and let them be happy, well that hurts us when the membership and activity is so low. If there were a good 20+ people roleplaying constantly with quality roleplay, then sure, let there be a newbie section, but for the time being they need to be stopped or improved.
