Anyone know some places in Canada where these are available? Preferably in store, but I know that is highly unlikely. But good, reliable and most of all descret places I can ship from online would be nice.

The cheapest from this site is $14.95 plus S&H. ( http://www.xpmedical.com/molicare.html)

They are indeed softer and more aesthetically pleasing than the x-plus but the x-plus has a greater capacity and a better price.

what is the deal with these? i hear people talk about them all the time, and they seem to be the only diaper with strong brand loyalty.

I wear smalls, so im basing my review on that.
They are pretty absorbant, however not quite as good as Abena Xplus.
VERY strong. I do alot of bending over, lifting and running about in my line of work, and they never leaked over almost 6 hours of wearing them, and several wets with no tears or overly noticeable leaking.(I tend to drink alot, and therefore wet alot. That is pretty impressive ^.^) There was a tiny leak around the inner right leg but it was not noticeable due to the fact that i wear a skirt or a short dress 90% of the time.
They swell up alot, but that can be a good thing for some people. They DID make me have to waddle a bit but i could still easily hide it if need be.
Plastic backing = yay! The new style of abena's worst flaw is the lack of plastic backing. It just doesn't help the diaper structurally to loose it.
I am impressed with the tapes, really. IMO the tapes kick Abenas's butt. they fasten on and stay on, and dont snag on anything.
All in all, if they were nto so expinsive, i would switch to them. In comparison to my favourites, Abena X plus they win hands down on comfort and durability movement wise. However in terms of price and absorbancy, Abena Xplues still take the cake, which is pretty sad looking at the price of them.
