Deep down Neil knew that Miss Amara was right. Inwardly he hoped that she'd be strict with him, and make him take a nap by putting him straight to bed.

Neil felt bad. Nanny was always kind to him. She was also always tolerant, patient, fair, and understanding. Yet despite this the little boy sometimes just couldn't help but to challenge her, and today was one of those days. Neil knew that Nanny had been given full authority regarding all aspects of his care including punishment. Just yesterday as a matter of fact, mommy had had a long talk with him about this very issue. She told him that Nanny had reported that her little boy had started to become very naughty. Mommy told him that Miss Amara had asked for and been given permission, to introduce the little boy to something called "a spanking" should he continue to disobey. When Neil had asked, "Mama what a 'pankin?" his mommy had said "If you're naughty, you'll find out young man. But if you do, you won't like it. Oh! No! Not one little bit!" Neil had smiled when she told him this, and mommy had pleaded with him to "try and be a good boy...."

"Dere was dat new word again", Neil thought. Mommy had brought up "SPANKING" for the first time yesterday. Prior to then, the little boy had never even heard the word before, and he still didn't understand what it meant. Now, Miss Amara had brought it up, and had even said she might give him one.

Neil watched as Nanny shook her head disappointedly, then lowered the lid of the grownup toilet seat. She then took him firmly by his wrist to that exact location.
