He had had to work for many things in life... he worked at Hockey all the time, and he had even worked hard in school to get good grades. He had worked hard to play high school football and baseball as well, and all three sports he had played at the Varsity level as a freshmen. But things like being great with people, talking to people, being funny and confident and a charmer... all those had come natural to him. He had grown up his whole life dealing with kids. He was pretty confident he could take care of Sera... he wasn't sure what Lauren would say, but he was confident she would stick with him. He would make it clear to her Sera was HIS responsibility, but he had a feeling she wouldn't have a problem.

" I'm sure you have. I just wanted to warn you," the man at the counter said with a smile. "If you are absolutely sure you want to adopt Sera, then I'll take care of all of the formalities."

Once all of the formalities were taken care of, the man at the counter said,"Alright, you may now take Sera home with you. Here is my card if you need anything." The man at the counter winked a he gave Jack his card

Jack smiled at the man and pocketed the card, handing the pen and papers to him. "Alright man, thank you so much. Have a nice day." He said as he waved to him, before walking over to Sera. He knelt down in front of her and smiled.
"Hey Sera, my name's Jack. Would you like to come live with me for a while?" He asked with a smile.

"Yeah!" Sera said happily. She didn't understand a word of Jack's question (besides her name), but she had a feeling about what he was asking. Now that Sera was ready to leave, there were some problems; she needed clothes and more diapers. Luckily for Jack, the card in his hand had the address of a store that specialized in all things for little nekos.

"Alright then, it's settled." He said with a smile, putting his coat on her. For the moment, it would keep her warm. The weather outside was no joke right now. He took her hand as they walked out to the car.

Sera smiled as she walked along with Jack. She didn't quite know what was happening, but she knew she was going to enjoy it. As Sera walked out, she shivered a little, but Jack's coat kept her mostly warm. Upon seeing Jack's car, Sera let out a questioning mew. She had never seen anything like it.

Jack grinned and opened the door.
"Shit, uh..." He said as he realized he would need a car seat. "Hold on." He popped the truck and pulled out his hockey bag. He took out the skates and tossed them in the back. He put the bag on the backseat, and shrugged, patting it.
"This should do until we get to the store." He said sheepishly. "Sorry, it's all we got." He said, buckling her in.

The hockey bag was a bit bumpy, but Sera didn't mind, mainly because she was so busy paying attention to everything else in the car. It was a lot bigger on the inside than she would have guessed, and a lot warmer too. Sera was especially interested in the upholstery ((is that what you call the soft, felt-y stuff?)) of the car. It was soft and felt like her fur.

Sera let out a happy purr as she stroked the upholstery of the car.

"Alright Sera." Jack said, turning and looking over the back of the seat as he pulled out of the parking space. "You're not much of a talker, huh? Just, you know, tell me if your hungry or you gotta go to the bathroom or something." He said with a smile, before looking forward as he pulled out of the parking lot. Snow started to drift lazily onto the windshield, where the heat of the cars interior slowly turned it to water.

Sera heard Jack say her name, but she wasn't really paying attention to it. She was too busy looking at the snow that was falling outside as Jack was driving. It was so white and bright; it amazed her just like everything else outside the adoption center.

Sera tapped the glass on the car, trying to touch the snow outside.
