Late at night in a world where Pokemon are the dominant species, an esteemed professor was coming back from his lab. His name was Nekron, a Mewtwo. In his computer bag was his notes from today's experiments along with a company tablet with shared research done by his co-workers.

As the Mewtwo passed beneath a streetlight on a corner, he pulled out his phone from his pocket. He tapped on the screen a few times before sensing a mental presence near him. He turned around in an attempt to make visual contact with the person

The owner of the mental presence was just a teenager, a Lucario named Kai. He wasn't actually on the grid anywhere, just ducking in and out of sight here and there. But now he needed to get food, and that meant he needed money. And seeing that getting a job would be counteractive to going underground, he had to get some out of poor people on the street. Whenever he got the contents of wallets or purses, a small moral voice in the back of his mind screamed to stop, only to never be listened to ever again

However, this was not going to plan at all. That stupid Mewtwo had seen him coming, or something of the sort. He cursed under his breath and summoned a Bone Rush staff, baring his teeth as he ran towards the now aware legendary. He could be forceful about this, but he was going to get something to eat. Either that, or he was going to die trying

The Mewtwo did nothing as the lucario rushed at him. Once the aura weapon was inches from impact, he closed his eyes and reached out his mind.

Time seemed to slow as his conscious entered into the bone, it was only a matter of concentration to snap the weapon. He could feel the energy dissipate into the air as his eyes flew open. Thrusting his leg up, he swiped his foot under the aura Pokemon's legs. Time returned to normal as Nekron took off running, his jacket billowing out behind him

Kai growled and jumped back on his feet, "Not today." He then activated his Extreme Speed, blurring in front of Nekron. He then pulled another weapon from in his jacket - a small silver knife covered in runes to protect it from psychics in any way. He didn't want to use such a valuable and effective blade, but if he didn't, his future was going to be cut painfully short

As the Mewtwo caught sight of the blade he froze, glaring at the runes before averting his gaze towards his assailant. Nekron spoke in a soft tone, "You seem much too young for this situation"

Kai bared his teeth, "I don't like it either, but I need to eat, which means I need money. If you'll hand over the cash in your wallet, I'll get out of your hair and nobody gets hurt." The paw gripping the knife trembled ever so slightly. Truth be told, he hadn't hurt anybody with the blade, nor did he want to. Especially since such a weapon was easily capable of bringing someone to Giratina very quickly

His gaze softened as Nekron took notice of the lucario's hesitation. Nekron held his palm out as he looked his opponent in the eye, "Give me the blade, son. We both know that you don't have to do this"

Kai stood still, paw quivering again as he argued, "Except that I do. Either you cooperate, you don't cooperate, or I starve. And I'm not going to let the last one become reality."

Nekron shook his head, as if mourning. Suddenly, his eyes snapped open and within seconds he had Kai pinned against a fence. He made a grab at the enchanted knife, not wanting to stain the ground with innocent blood.

Kai dropped the knife, attempting to get off the fence, "If you're going to do it, then just do it."
