A New Family Member (Private for Ace615 and Baby Sarah)

Hikari smiled at Jack. "Tank oo daddy. It bettew dan wha dey mawde me eat atda owphanage, when I ate at awll." She mewled as she removed her paci and picked up the spoon, slightly unsteady given her lack of experience. She ended up making a bit of a mess trying to get the first bite in.

Jack chuckles and gets a smaller spoon, swapping it out for the bigger one
Hikari was having trouble with. "There ya go, try that instead." He hoped he
wouldn't have to feed her, she was big enough to do it herself after all. He
tussles her hair as he digs around in the cabinets, fortunately he did by a
couple sippy cups. Jack gets one out and fills it with apple juice before sitting it on the table within Hikari's reach. Afterwards he has a seat and sips from his own glass of tea.

Hikari nodded. "Tank oo daddy." She said as she tried again, with more success. She still was unsteady, but instead of the skill of an infant, she now had the skill of a four year old. She proceeded to eat her lunch quietly, purring as she did at her first real meal in a long time.

Jack smiles as he watches her eat. He glances up at the clock as well. It was
only about 3 in the afternoon, so the small lunch would hold her till he fixed
dinner later. "We'll probably go to bed early. You've got a big day tomorrow
you know, I'm taking you clothes shopping and such." The small walk-in closet
in Hikari's room was already partially stocked with clothing in various sizes,
but it was still largely empty and he wanted to give the little neko a chance to
pick out her own clothes.

Hikari looked up with cheese all over her mouth. "Showpping daddy? Wha showpping?" She mewled. Apparently she had been left out of orphanage field trips, and didn't understand certain concepts, another sign of her mistreatment at the orphange.

Seeing that she's emptied the bowl Jack gets up and puts it in the sink, he then takes off her napkin bib and procedes to wipe off her mouth off with it. After finishing he lifts her up into his arms and carries her back into her new room. He sets her down by the toys and has a seat himself. "Thats where I buy you things you need, and if your good things you want. We'll get you some clothes, and some other things you'll need."

Hikari nodded as she was set down near her toys. SHe then reached for her paci, only to notice it wasn't anywhere near her. She stood up unsteadily due to the thick diaper the attendant put her in and waddled over to her backpack, looking for her paci before turning to Jack. "Daddy, whewe my binky?" She mewled worriedly. The paci was obviously a comfort item for her.

Jack remembers her leaving it on the table. "I'll get it, you sit tight." He goes and fetches it before bringing it back and sitting back down, slipping it into her mouth and smiling. "There ya go, that better hun?" He smiles and pinches one of her cheeks. "Think you can play and keep yourself occupied for a bit? I need to move something into your room, afterwards I can play with ya if you like."

Hikari nodded as she waddled over to the dollhouse and started playing with the dolls as she sucked on her paci.

Jack gets up and leaves the room, heading to the room in the back that
functioned as storage. He cleans off the old changing table in the back and
through much effort weasels it out. After maybe 15-20 minutes of grunting,
shoving, pushing, and pulling he gets it situated into Hikari's room in the last
empty corner. Upon checking the drawers he's pleased to find some diapers
already in it, there weren't many but enough to last a day or 2. A little
powder was left too. Once it's all in place Jack has a seat on the floor with
Hikari as she plays with the dollhouse, pleased she's enjoying herself.
