Padded Explorers (For Abnormal One)

It was broad daylight out in the world of pokemon, the wind was gentle and there was hardly a cloud in the sky, signalling good weather. Pokemon of all different shapes and sized were around, all doing their own things and minding their own business if they could while they lived on the large island they called home.

On this island, there was much to explore, and many did just that, all for different motivations, but occasionally didn't exactly come back in the same condition as they did before, and rarely, some didn't return to their homes at all. Danger lurked in the places they explored, and these places were known as "Mystery Dungeons." In these dungeons, more wild pokemon wandered, lashing out at those who even seemed slightly different from them. Because many people explored, many people were attacked.

This encouraged people to start going in groups in order to avoid situations like that, and of course, this lead to exploration teams being made all around the world. Fast forwards a bit and now you have guilds, villages, bounties and jobs everywhere, even in the homes of those who didn't live in the guild.

Speaking of teams, one team in particular was currently just now waking from a deep slumber over the night. The first to awake was a twenty five year old female Breloom that went by the name of Cas. She was known to have a bit of a temper, and that is mainly blamed on her kind being partial fighting types. That temper could easily be put down if she had a secret, that she kept very close to her, found out by anyone, even her partner.

At the moment, she was currently waking up and getting out of her bed, which was made of simply hay and some grass. Upon sitting up, she rubbed one of her eyes a bit and looked over at her partner with a tired look on her face. "I hate mornings..." She muttered to herself as she got to her feet and stretched a bit.

The other Pokemon that was a part of this team was a male Flareon named Speck. Like his partner he was also 25 years old; however unlike his partner he was much more carefree and easy going compared to his often temperamental partner. As usual, Speck was still curled up in a ball and sleeping peacefully as Cas had woken up. In all the time he'd been together with her it was exceptionally rare that he would be the first to wake up. He'd probably sleep until noon if Cas let him get away with it.

Like Cas, Speck also had a secret that no other Pokemon knew about and he had no intention of anyone ever finding out. He couldn't even imagine what Cas would do if she knew. Probably kick him off the team or something no doubt. Anyway, Speck was going to keep sleeping until Cas woke him up for now.

Cas looked over at Speck and said, "Good mornin' speck." After that was said, she went over to where they usually kept their food, which was mainly a variety of berries, apples, and gummies all inside of a box. Upon reaching it, she reached inside and pulled out a single small apple before proceeding to take a bite out of it. Now looking back at Speck, she asked him, "So...Any idea for what we should do today? Should we just explore, do a job for someone or hunt someone down? We could use the money to probably get ourselves a door because we need one."

Speck yawned sleepily as Cas woke him up from talking before he got up from his bed of soft hay and grass. As he stood up he stretched himself out fully. Half asleep, he crawled over slowly to the box of food and took out a red gummi which he nommed on tiredly.

"We should probably do a job that will get us some cash" he contributed, yawning and rubbing his eyes before going back to his gummi. "Rather than a door I'd prefer a softer bed though. Then I can sleep better" he mused. He already slept pretty well and plenty enough as it was though so it was unlikely that she'd field his suggestion.

Cas argued as she took a bite out of her apple and sat next to the box of food, with her tail to the side just so she didn't knock it over, "No, a door would be way more important than getting better sleep. Let's be honest here, without one, we're prone to weather and someone could just easily waltz in here completely uninvited." Due to her take such large bites out of the red fruit in her hand, it wasn't long before she finished it and simply tossed it into a makeshift trash bin, which was really just another box.

Then she got to her feet and said, "I'm going to go check the mail and see if we got anything." With that said, she made her way to the exit, of their home before heading over to where they usually received mail, which was just a simple bulletin board.

"Fine fine we'll get a door first" Speck replied in the sort of tone that suggested he was reluctantly giving up on getting his way. He soon finished off the gummi he was chewing on and then went out to follow Cas.

"So what have we got? Anything good?" He asked as he snuck up behind her and peered over her shoulder by standing up on his hind legs and holding onto her shoulders for support. Speck had a bit of a quirk where he often didn't respect another Pokemon's personal space, so it wasn't uncommon for him to do this sort of thing.

While Cas had experienced this kind of thing from him before, it didn't mean she was getting any better with it. So she grumbled a bit before saying, "First of all, get off my back before I use my tail to make it so baring the burden of having children won't be a problem for you anymore. Secondly, this is just a simple fetch-quest mission. We're just going to have to go look into some dungeon and retrieve and item for some girl." She let out a sigh and thought to herself: Why can't people just keep bags on their selves to hold their stuff? It's the smarter thing to do instead of just hold it in your mouth or hand all day! Then she walked back towards their house

She proceeded to take the letter and put it in a large bag that she would usually carry around that would contain things for both of them to use. She took the paper with their job on it before rolling it up and putting it into the bag. Then she turned to Speck and said, "We're going to relax a bit before we go out on a mission. We did just wake up after all."

[Abnormal one]

Speck took the recommendation to get off of her pretty quickly after she'd threatened to hit him where it hurts, letting go of her and dropping to all fours again back on the ground. "Awww.. Fetch missions are so boring though. I'd rather hunt an outlaw or something" he pouted, puffing his cheeks up a bit. The number of missions they got currently was limited though so he knew it wasn't just that simple.

"Well I don't mind if you want to relax a bit before we start. I have some things I wanna do anyway. What time do you want to start the mission?" He asked her casually, if perhaps a little vague.

Cas answered as she decided to just sit down, looking in Speck's direction as she said, "I think we can wait about...oh say thirty minutes or something. This mission isn't exactly too worth it in my opinion, so it can wait for a bit." That was a bit of a long wait, but then again, neither of them where in a rush right now. Then she commented with a small yawn as she began to lie down, "Maybe tomorrow, we will get a mission that is actually interesting for once. Now go do whatever you want and let me sleep." Then she decided to close her eyes and sleep.

At least that was what it looked like she was doing when she was secretly waiting for Speck to leave her to herself so she could have some privacy to do her own thing. There was something she wanted to do that she wanted no one else to see her do...

[Abnormal one]

"Ehh? Are you serious? You're just gonna sleep?" Speck complained some as he watched her. It annoyed him when other Pokemon got to sleep and not him, but he really did need to go out and take care of something. "Fineee. I'll be back in thirty minutes" he told her, not even sure if she was even still listening.

Anyway, once Speck exited the base he made his way into town without even looking back, not suspecting that she was up to something. He was too focused on himself for now anyway, making his way over to a Pokemon Post Office. Unknown to Cas, Speck had a private post box that he used when he wanted to get packages she didn't know about.

Today he had an arrival as expected. From the outside it was just a Plain box taped up with no markings whatsoever. It was handy that Cas was sleeping back in the base as it would make it easier for him to get this in privately without her seeing.
