Padded Prehistoric Predators (Private for WittleNicky)

Mesozoic Zoological Gardens. A triumph of genetics, paleontology, paleobotany, and zoology that showcased what was once thought to be science fiction: living dinosaurs reverse engineered from chickens.

Strangely, the process had a strange result: the pair of raptors that that had been produced were fully sapient and capable of speech. Not wanting to waste the opportunity, they were exhibited in the raptor enclosure and even trained to do tricks.

One of the raptors, a bright red and green feathered Deinonychus was idly kicking a tire suspended from a tree.

Above him were the electrified wires that kept him and the zoogoers apart from each other. There were also viewing galleries with military-grade bulletproof glass windows that allowed the viewers to watch the raptors up close.

Inside the exhibit next door to the first, the other raptor being a dark blue and grey feathered Deinonychus, the cousin species of the Raptor family was standing on one of the rocks looking outward up top and then down to the those glasses to notice those humans looking at him. He slightly tilted his head on why those humans just looked at him for, its not like they've seen him compared to the other one just next door before. So he slightly shrugs off the staring and went to nibble on a bone that was lying around.

The enclosures were linked but the raptors controlled the interactions between them.

Two zookeepers entered the enclosure via a double airlock system to prevent escapes. One of the zookeepers was armed with a stun rod (not that she'd need it but it was standard protocol). The other had the tack that the raptors wore while performing in the arena. They were scheduled to put on an educational show.

"Redcrest! Come!" The other keeper whistled.

Redcrest chirped and entered the artificial grotto that concealed the passage between the two enclosures as well as the staff entrance.

The raptor snuffled and inhaled the man's scent. "Good boy!" the zookeeper said. "Now, we have a show today!"

"Let's hope we don't get interrupted like last time," Redcrest said, erecting the crest of feathers that gave him his name. He was referring to the time a bunch of Compsognothus got loose and started chasing the guests.

"Come here, Greyazure!" The keeper told him which the dino looked to and went over as ordered into the arena.

Greyazure, given the color of his grey feather over his whole body minus and blue feathers that ran along from his head and down his back and under his arms which looked like he got wing arms caught on the girls scent when they were in.

"Show time, ma'am?" He asked with his head tilted in question.

"Yup, thats right boy." She told him.

The two keepers entered with the two stun rod armed zookeepers standing back in case things got ugly.

Redcrest turned to Greyazure and sniffed him.

Redcrest's keeper placed the chain collar and cable leash on the ground. "Greyazure, Redcrest...some changes have been made to the protocols when we're taking you out for public interactions and shows."

The raptor chittered and preened himself. "Oh joy. What could it be?"

The zookeeper rubbed the back of her neck. How was she supposed to tell these two that they had to be diapered?

Greyazure blinked and sniffled Redcrest back in response before looking to the keepers.

"Hmm? What kind of changes exactly??" He asked before grooming his arm a little.

"Well, as you can see, you will be on a leash when we're taking you to the show." The keeper held up the chain collars and steel cable leashes for the duo to sniff.

Redcrest sniffed the gear and carefully ran a claw over it. "That was same as before. And along with the mittens and booties for public interaction." The raptor was referring to the fleece lined leather restraints that prevented them from clawing anyone, either accidentally or on purpose.

The keeper gulped. Might as well get it out. "Well, because the cleaning staff are tired of cleaning up raptor droppings on the public areas, you two will need to be diapered."

Greyazure sniffed the gear and blinked on this. "Hmm..strange. Nothing i'm used to." He replied before his eyes widened on the other news. "What!? Now why would the staff be tired of our daily needs of going bathroom??" He questioned.

"The keepers are the ones who clean up your droppings in your enclosure and we're okay with that." The keeper looked at Redcrest who seemed aghast...at least as aghast a raptor could be. He hissed in disappointment and anger.

"Someone has their head too far up their cloaca," Redcrest replied with a growl.

"Essy. Eyes up here." Redcrest immediately looked at the keeper's finger when she whistled, which caused his anger to dissipate.

The zookeeper chuckled at the raptor's colorful expression. "Humans don't actually have a cloaca. But as I said, the janitors are tired of cleaning up raptor dropping in the public areas and the arena holds multiple shows so we like to keep it as clean as possible."

Greyazure groans a little on this as he lowered down in shame.

"Uugh...I don't really know how i'm gonna handle this." He mumbled softly since this is just different.
