Doctor Svelri pointed to a scene of a drug dog sniffing out drugs on a vehicle. "As you all know, we prize dogs not just for their olfactory capabilities but for their intelligence and trainability. There are animals that exceed the dog in terms of olfaction but are untrainable. Likewise there are animals that extremely intelligent but have a sense of smell that is merely on par with ours if not worse."

He pressed a button on the remote, changing it to a picture of a Velociraptor. "Behold, the perfect combination of trainability, intelligence and olfactory capabilities. The Velociraptor. Smaller than a dog, can manipulate and carry objects like a primate and as intelligent as a parrot and with superior olfactory capabilities than that of a dog."

Greyazure's keeper scowled. "You are all out of your damn minds if you think using raptors to search for contraband is going to work!"

Doctor Svelri said nothing but changed the picture on the slideshow. This time, it revealed Greyazure and Redcrest. "We will be using these two intelligent raptors as test subjects. Besides, it'll be a game to them and it'll be something we can show the guests in the Hunting Grounds."

"The Hunting Grounds are off-limits to the public for a very good reason. I do not approve of this."

Redcrest's keeper was a bit mortified on the explanation. "I agree, this goes against everything." She said with a pout. "Besides, the Hunting Grounds are forbidden. No one or either dinosaur is allowed there due to that one incident."

"That was a simple mistake." Dr. Sverli dismissively waved his hand. "Besides, we need to keep those two stimulated or they'll suffer issues. And what could be more stimulating than a chase or an olfactory puzzle for these two?"

Greyazure's keeper scowled. "The Hunting Grounds are off-limits to the public. No exceptions!"

"We could always livestream it with drones."

"Fine. We run this one test and see how the raptors react. And I'm only agreeing because of the potential stimulation for the raptors. Any more talk about raptors as working animals and we're through."

Redcrest chittered and flared his crest at some of the visitors who were quite impressed.

Redcreast's keeper groaned on it. "Thats still no exception!" She exclaimed only to sigh. "Fine..but only just because. One more mess-up like last time, no more of this working slavery for the two...ever!!"

Meanwhile, Greyazure was tending to the feathers on his arms to keep them straightened out, not much of a show unlike his partner.

Doctor Sverli nodded. "I understand. You two will have full control over this test." He shut down the projector and packed up his laptop. "Well, this presentation is over. You all may leave."

As he watched the people leave he nodded. Not only did he have no intention of running only one test as he said he would, he also planned to engineer additional raptors like Greyazure and Redcrest but with more compliance and subservience.

Redcrest snarled and growled at someone who threw a hot dog into the enclosure.

Redcrest's keeper felt relieved when it was over and started to head back out. As much as she doesn't like doing this, at least it'll be only one test.

Greyzaure on the other hand, noticed the hot dog and sniffles it a bit. He always wondered if human food tastes the same thing as the meats he gets.

Redcrest tilted his head as he saw Greyazure sniffkng the hot dog.

He pressed his muzzle against the bulletproof glass as a boy placed his hand on it. He chirped and raised his crest.

Greyazure's keeper rubbed his forehead."Man, what a pompous ass. I mean, he acts like he knows everything about them because he created them."

He spat into the dirt and continued walking. "Yes, And we raised them."

Greyazure sniffled some more before he proceeded to eat it. Of course it would startle some people seeing him eating it, but he didn't mind a bit.

Redcrest's keeper looked to the other along the way. "I know..this is unfair. They can't be used out on the Hunting Grounds." She rubs her head a bit. "We don't know what will become of them through this."

Greyazure's keeper opened the door to the enclosure. He whistled for the raptors to enter the grotto.

As was protocol, four guards with stun rods were ready in the event of issues.

Redcrest immediately looked up at the sound of the whistle. He chirped and ran into grotto. As he approached, he could smell the piercing, bitter scent of anger that the two keepers were giving off.

Greyazure perks up on the whistling and followed after his partner. Of course like Red, he smelt the sense of frustration from one of the two. "..Why do you two feel agitated? Is something wrong??"

Redcrest's keeper sighs softly and shook her head. "Just some things we don't want to agree doing except..had to." SHe groaned. "At least its one time only.."
