Apple had always been something of a heavy sleeper. Not nearly as heavy as Briar, of course, but it could still be difficult to rouse her before she was ready to wake up.

We’ve been friends for a long time, but it’s been a strained friendship at times, going back to Legacy Day. I’m just so happy to be so close to you, and to have you in my bed like this.”

"Honestly, Raven... that was the most restful night's sleep I've had in a very long time," Apple answered sincerely. She accepted the kisses eagerly, especially the ones on the lips.
