You have to look at this from a money standpoint. It makes no sense whatsoever to stop making hard copies of a disk. Networks crash, the internet goes down. When you have a hard disk and a console, you don't always require internet to play a game. That's why games are popular for their campaigns and story modes. A lot of games sell for their online multiplayer, but the fact that local gameplay is still huge for gamers, hard copies aren't going away.
That's like saying because you can stream movies and download them, people won't buy hard disks. Kids watch movies on car rides and generally you need a portable DVD player and a disk. Kids like being able to see new movies they like or just want. I love collecting the dbz movies that are coming out now just to have them. People buy entire seasons of a series they love to have it and watch it, or just to have a collection. Hard copies of things are still in a huge market for videogames.
I would say they are going to offer both online copies and hard copies for a good long while. They make money from both, so stopping the flow of cash from people who don't frequently have online access would be foolish.
