Pokemon - Youngster's journey (private for Anon7921)

Hello there! Welcome to the world of Pokémon! This new adventure we're about to begin will take place in the region of Hoshira, a peaceful and wonderful place where humans and their little friends live happily together, some as pets, some using them for fights. With his extraordinary habitat, Hoshira is one of the regions with the largest amount of native Pokemon, every kind of choice is possible! But dark clouds are raising on the horizon, and the peace in Hoshira could soon come to an end...

In the southern part of the region, Fulmen City was completely unaware of the future and was just enjoying that sunny day. Life was good as always, with everyone having a nice time either at work or around the city, as spring would've ended soon and summer was just ahead. There were, however, two people quite excited as that day, for them at least, was very special: Ash Ketchum and Gary Oak.

The two Pokémon trainers had previously moved there after meeting again, back in Kanto after both had finished their journeys, but still looking for a new adventure and, of course, new Pokémon. When Professor Oak had suggested them to go to Hoshira, as he could settle them down for a little in Fulmen City, the two boys didn't miss the chance: after a long plane trip, here they were. The place they were currently occupying was a simple and comfortable apartment, made available by Professor Ptolemy, an old friend of Professor Oak and renowned researcher on the relationship between Pokemon and the universe. The Kanto trainers had met him on day one at the airport and, after spending a couple of days visiting the city and getting used to the new region, they had received their two new starters just that morning! It was quite an experience for both of them, filled with many memories.

"Well, I'm done!" Gary said as he closed his bag and carried it over his shoulders. The brunette trainer was wearing his usual violet shirt and jeans, and was waiting for his fellow friend: they had agreed to start their new journey that day and now, with their new Pokemon, they were ready. Or so Gary hoped as, when he saw Ash was still finishing with his equipment, he joked: "Hope you don't want to be late once again, Ashy-boy!", smirking.

"Not gonna be late this time!" Ash said as he finished packing up his bag and got it over his shoulders, Ash still wearing his outfit from Kanto, black t-shirt with a blue and white shirt over it, blue jeans and sneakers and Ash's Pikachu quickly hopped up on one of his shoulders as Scorbunny, the starter that Ash got from Professor Ptolemy just that morning hopped up on the other one...

Ash smirked back at Gary before opening the door to their apartment before walking out of it first...

"Hey! Don't you dare overrun me!" Gary shouted back as Ash just walked out: he wanted to be the one to take the first step in their new travel! Such petty rivalries were still on between the two of them, so Gary immediately ran after the other boy and the two took part in a head-to-head run on the stairs.

Unfortunately for them, as they reached the entrance door while still trying to pass each other, they failed to notice the person who was coming from the outside and crushed against his chest. "Gah!" yelled Gary, as he almost lost his balance and brought his hand to his forehead. "Why don't you look..." the boy started to complain before quickly realizing: "... Oh dear, Professor Ptolemy!".

That's right, in front of them there was no other than Professor Ptolemy himself. The old man had lost telescope-like cane in the impact and was shouting: "Ahhh! This is the end of me! There's only darkness! The universal void!", aimlessly moving his arms around. Sighing, Gary simply reached the Professor's complex pair of glasses, filled with dozens of different lenses needed for his studies, and fixed them back in their proper position.

Now with his sight back, Professor Ptolemy calmed down and said: "Oh, now everything is back! The Big Crunch is still delayed!", before grabbing his cane from the floor and looking at the two trainers: "Just like my grandkids when they started their journey years ago... Running around so full of energy!". After dusting off his long white beard, he added: "In fact... so full of energy to forget the most important thing!" with a smile, searching in his coat and then showing two square-like red Pokedex. In their excitement in the morning, Gary and Ash had forgotten to collect them!

Ash kept on going faster, breaking into a run as he tried to stay ahead of Gary on the stairs and as they hit someone at the entrance door, Ash lost his balance unlike Gary, falling down on his bottom...

Pikachu and Scorbunny held onto Ash's shoulders as Ash put his hands on his mouth as he realized he just ran down Professor Ptolemy as he stood up and said, "Sorry for that Professor" before realizing that they had forgotten to collect their Pokedexes and blushed in embarrassment at that before taking his pokedex from the professor...

"Yeah... Sorry..." Gary said after Ash, although his apology was just a formality as he wasn't feeling the least guilty. Still, to save the face, he had to be no less than Ash, so he bowed his head too and took his Pokedex.

Professor Ptolemy laughed loudly, despite his age, and patted the two boys on their heads, careful to not hit anything with his cane. "Oh, it's fine! I would've come either way to wish you both good luck! You're going to need it, Hoshira is an enormous region so filling your Pokedex won't be easy!" he explained.

Raising an eyebrow, Gary grinned and shrugged his shoulders, saying: "Don't worry, Professor, I'm an experienced Pokemon trainer and researcher... and Ash tries his best, right Ash?", before wrapping his arm around Ash's neck and pressing him against his chest, always enjoying teasing the other trainer. "We're going to rule this region!" he cockily declared.

"Ah! The wonders of youth! I can already see your lucky stars shine brightly in the firmament!" the old Professor joked, liking the enthusiasm of the two. Still, for a moment, his face turned into a strange expression, almost like... sadness? Whatever it was, the Professor immediately shook his head and said: "Well then, take your first steps in your new adventure! And don't forget to have fun!", making way for the two trainers and pointing with his cane to the north, technically to the first route, but meaning the entire region.

Ash blushed a bit as he was patted on the head by Professor Ptolemy and even more as he let out a yelp as Gary pressed him against his chest, trying to get out of his grip as Pikachu and Scorbunny just laughed at their trainer's situation...

But at Gary's words Ash said, "Yeah, we're gonna take this place by storm!" feeling the same confidence at the moment that Gary was feeling looking onwards at the first route out of the city and onto the rest of the region...

So once he managed to get himself out of Gary's grip and his pokemon were secure, Ash led the way down the route first saying to Professor Ptolemy, "See you around Professor" before heading on down the route...

"We'll meet again when we'll have won the Hoshira League!" Gary said too, nodding at the old Professor and tipping his fingers off his head and smiling confidently. He then too run away with Ash.

Back on the palace stairs, Professor Ptolemy waved back at them until they were gone, before taking a long breath. He stood there for a moment, before suddenly jumping and yelling: "I forgot to turn off my teapot!". Somehow much faster than the two trainers, Professor Ptolemy too ran away, in the opposite direction, back to his laboratory.

And so, Ash and Gary's new adventure had begun. The two were now heading towards the city's end, with the route coming closer, when Gary turned to Ash and asked: "So, what are we going to do?". He then stopped, opened his Pokedex and a holographic map of the region showed up before their eyes: "I know you like wasting time with weak Pokemon, Ash, but I'd say we should head to first Pokemon gym available!". So typical of Gary, only thinking about badges and assuming training and experience would've come along.

Ash stopped with Gary and took a look at the holographic map out on the pokedex and said, "The gym's still a bit out there in distance though even if we run all the way there, we might as well get some rust out with some battles along the way to the gym"

Pikachu and Scorbunny nodded approval to their trainer's words as they were pretty close up to the route, they could even see some trainers along the side of it...

"Umph... As if we need any training for that. We're more than experienced for a gym battle!" Gary stated, wincing at Ash's proposal as he thought they didn't need any sort of preparation before taking down their first gym.

Still, when he noticed the two Pokemon cheered in unison, the young trainer sighed. "Guess we'll take the long run then. Don't slow me down, Ashy-boy!" he said, waving his hands and then heading outside the city.

ROUTE 1

A beautiful park walk made entirely of red bricks on the ground unfolded before them. Around it, nature reigned freely with green and tall trees, planted carefully so that anyone could walk among them. Despite the wild grass around, which ran along with tracts of land, that place was a fresh country area outside Fulmen City, that's why it was so well cured.

Around a nearby corner, standing at the top of a large rock, there was a young boy who was currently scanning the entire area with his blue eyes. He had blond hair, with bangs falling around his face, and was currently wearing a red t-shirt with black shorts. After turning left and right, he snorted and said: "I told you Vince, there's nothing left here to explore! We should go back!".

Ash went off with Gary taking their first steps into Route 1 walking down the park walk...

With the other young boy, the boy named Vince rolled his eyes and said, "There should be something around here we haven't explored yet, I think we should keep looking" Vince had black hair, windswept by the running they've been doing for a while and was wearing a green t-shirt with an Armaldo on it and blue shorts and continued to look around, standing around the side of the Route 1 road...
