Practice (private with Bren)
I walked into my home early. My boss had given me what he termed as a "permanent vacation." In other words I was fired. I'm just glad that there will be a rather sizable severance package and that we had a sizable amount squirreled away in case of emergency. Of course that was the only silver lining attached to a rather ominous cumulonimbus.
At least I could count on my wife for financial support until she went on maternity leave. But I needed to get my mind off these things and calm down. I headed into my office, sure that I had the house to myself so I didn't bother closing the door. Quickly I booted up my computer and accessed the internet.
Soon I was in infantile bliss as I accessed my favorite sites that I still kept a secret from my new wife. I began to forget the horrid events of the day and the worries for the future.
