The Quest for the Fountain of Youth

Legend says, that once upon a time, the God of Mischief, Skemar, played an evil and cruel plan on the Goddess of Youth and Fertility, Vesna: he tore her favourite resting place, the Tree of Eternal Life, by the roots of which the Fountain of Youth laid, out of the Celestial Plane, and hid it in a pocket dimension, the entrance of which was somewhere on the Prime Material plane, on a strange planet inhabited primarily by humans, and beings with both human and animal features, and one of the Elder Races. Vesna was thus cut off from it forever, as the Gods were forbidden to enter the Prime Material plane after the Pact of Those Above And Below.
It is said, that the Fountain of Youth has been found after by a wizard seeking eternal youth, whom then, after doing mad from an eternal life in loneliness, was inspired by Skemar to build a dungeon around the Fountain. Driven by his desires, he'd spread clues among the cutest and most talented young women of the realm, to lead them to the dungeon, in search for the very few worthy of sharing eternal youth with.
But those who'd fail his trials, would find themselves enslaved by the perverted mage, and kept as mere pets at his mercy, reverted to mere children.
For the power of the Fountain of Youth is immense - as a Divive creation, its waters not only stop aging, but have the power to even reverse it, turning even a dying old man into a toddler if consumed for long enough.

And so, some such clues have found their ways to the right young girls, all of them carefully selected for their personalities and talents.
A map, leading to the location of the dungeon's entrance, found its way to an aspiring kitsune fighter.
A relic that serves as its key, regarded as a prized jewel of the royal family of the Marble Kitsune, found its way to their princess, an aspiring sorceress whom found out its true purpose.
A short sword, with the crest of Skemar, which has a compass in its pommel always pointing to the entrance, found its way to a young human rogue.
A warhammer, carefully crafted to break a very certain wall, wielded by a young wolf warrior.

Now, all of these characters find themselves in the town of Waystone, a small town that started as just a little shelter centuries ago at the intersection of two trade roads at a small lake in te middle of the Southern Wilds, a tropical mountain range covered by a thick, hot, humid jungle. And the reason they all came here, was the rumour that an aging ranger patrolling the nearby mountains to keep tabs of the population of the maneating beasts near the roads and the settlement for decades, came back as a young man in his early twenties days ago, after drinking from a crystal clear creek that no one ever remembered was there.

Minx was a lightly built, tall fox girl fighter with scarlet red fur and hair. She was quite on the weak side, barely able carry her gear, everything an budding archaeologist might need in a ruin, from a two person tent, to a pick and crowbar.

She was also quite smart, and more then able to bring her long bow to bear on a target, with a shield and a whip if things got up close and personal. She had a rather embarrassing problem with bedwetting, so she kept a couple diapers in her gear that were probably a bit pinker and thicker then needed, but if anyone found out, they were the ones on sale. Totally.

At 21, she might very well be the oldest on in the group, eager to see if the map she'd found led to a hidden city she'd been trying to find her whole life, or would reveal some clue. A fountain of youth was also a tempting prospect, with the historical significance it brought. She hoped the place didn't have spiders, she was terrified of the all too common arachnids.

At the moment, she stuck close to Aurelia, since she'd done work for her family before, and worked with Aurelia herself to retrieve a few artifacts. She was quite protective of the younger members of the party, though the princess knew about her bedwetting issue. Minx hoped it wouldn't be an issue here as she looked around the town to see what there was to see, and where the tavern was.

Maria had red fur blue eyes and a Caucasian skin tone she just started adventuring and left her home to adventure her father was a former soldier who taught her everything about being a solder and her mom used to be an adventurer but now she’s a stay at home mom. Maria is 19 and a bit of a Joker but she can be sly if she needs to be she doesn’t need the fountain of youth right now but she has a couple of glass bottles for when she gets older and she is looking for other treasure that might be in the dungeon. She also kindve misses being a baby and being taken care of by her family and when she’s alone she sometimes pretends to be a baby. She brought her necessary supplies and her baby supplies in her backpack for when she finds somewhere to cub out

Sarah was a regular human, 5 foot 2 with brown hair and green eyes. She was a bit paler than most, thin as well. Perfect build for a rogue.

She glanced down at the shortsword belted at her hip, making sure the compass was still pointing in the same direction. She'd actually stolen the sword during her days as an urchin, knowing it had something to do with the goddess of youth. But she hadn't learned about the fountain of youth until recently, only a few days ago having figured out the pommel was a compass that lead to the fountain. The compass had led her here, had her meeting the other 3 who had similar artifacts.

Calianna was a Nekoimi girl, her black her came to half way down her back. She was 15 thin and short for her age and dressed it dark clothes and a cloak. Her parents were both members of a thieves guild that were executed after a hist went wrong. Shes been on her own every since. Though she'es every admit it she was a little attention staved, and wanted nothing more then to be doted on.

She first found out about the dungeon after she "forcibly acquired a mages spell book that was studying the dungeon. She doesn't care about the fountain itself but hopes to get rich by selling the water from it.

Minx knew Aurelia was usually rather ostentatious in her attire, but the circumstances of their journey warranted a more subtle appearance. To make the heat and humidity more bearable, she wore a very simple and somewhat plain white robe, made from a thin, but tastefully opaque fabric, that covered her body from wrist to ankle. The bright colors repelling the sun's heat off of her. Her subspecies were adapted to cooler environments, the irony of her family being phoenix-blooded pyromancers as not lost on her. Her fur was mostly white, with blotches of black marbling.

The prospect of the Fountain of Youth seemed improbable. While she had no need for it at 20, yet, a divine relic of such historical and religious significance would surely help Aurelia achieve individual notoriety, and the wealth that would flow in, if the Eternus family held a monopoly on literal immortality would be almost unimaginable. As far as her family was aware, the Rod of Vesna, was a key to some ancient ruin she and Minx were looking to explore. The rod itself being a ruby held by seven claws, connected atop a rod made of an unknown, golden material that seemed immune to tarnish, or even damage. They had always disapproved of her adventurousness, but recognizing the need to allow her to work through her wanderlust, the Eternus family did little to stop her. The thought of her family's reaction to her finding the Fountain of Youth would be priceless. Especially with the current King, her grandfather, at age 81, starting to waste away from old age. The two were always quite close.

"Can we take a break?" Aurelia suggested to Minx, eyeing a tavern, wanting to go somewhere that even might be cooler than the outside and this ridiculous humidity. That, and they had already been traveling for quite a bit.

"A break would be advised." Minx nodded, eyeing the group. "Two fighters, two rouges and a sorcerer. Interesting mix... even if none of you are old enough to drink where I'm from." She teased, a fair few inches taller then everyone it seemed. She gave off strong big sister vibes.
