Races
Mimis: Dogs, cats, rabbits and many more! The only things we object against are sea life birds we will consider considering we have spells to keep any little birds from flying away from the adults anyway.
Nobody knows where Mimis originated from, but it is believed from Serenity's research that they are probably a jump in evolution caused in magical experiments a long time ago, some were animals in the first place charmed into a human-like life but retaining their animal-like qualities. Some are simply born this way from mimis that went and had children like themselves. Nobody knows the exact source other than that, however Serenity has a great interest in their origin.
Humans: of course humans would be here since they are one of the biggest populations. They are also one of the younger and more eager races to be known in this world. Many are completely normal but some who have had a parent from a different race do gain abilities of their own.
They are a well-rounded species, filled with physical strength and the ability to deal with situations without relying so much on magic, Serenity has always loved and been fascinated with them and their determination some without magic of any kind.
Elves: A proud, very old race who have a much larger lifespan than normal, many use magic themselves but some prefer to be alchemists. They are very wise but sometimes their pride can get the better of them causing them to seem arrogant. They usually have a very elegant air around them but these days since they have integrated with Le Lune many of the newer generation are much more light hearted and playful.
Halflings: Over the years at Le Lune the barrier between races had fallen causing many to 'interbreed'. This is what causes halflings, children and teens with the DNA of two races blending with each other. They tend to gain some abilities and some weaknesses from both races, some one side more than the other. Mimis are the most common to create Halflings it seems though you can never see both races in them, as the DNA favours the mother than the father making them merely take on a different eye-type or traits than looks.
I'd like to thank Emerett for the following race ideas!
Fae – The 'animal-heavy' relative of the Mimi race. They inherit the majority of the animal traits while still appearing semi-humanoid. Nobody knows if they are actually related to the Mimi race, but they are naturally attuned to magic and have an affinity for it. Most fae have a natural talent with glamour charms and can use them from a young age to take on a singular 'human' form, which may be full human, or to assume a mimi form related to their 'Fae' nature.
Chlorokin – Humanoids who are plant-like in nature. Their skin takes on a barklike appearance and their hair looks like leaves or vines. They gain sustenance from sunlight, air, and water because they produce chlorophyll, but can also be sustained by human food. Chlorokin cannot survive in areas with heavy pollution, but given clean air and plentiful sunlight they can grow up healthy and strong. Chlorokin have an affinity for hobbies and jobs related to nature, such as gardening, but they can break off into other catagories if they so wish.
Aether-born – The result of pockets of heavily unstable magic. Aether-born are usually born to 'normal' parents who live in pockets of unstable magic, or who work with magic in massive quantities. The magic 'warps' the unborn child and when they are born, they come out bearing no resemblance to the parent. Aether-born children are usually cast out by their parents and can only survive in areas of heavy magical energy because they were 'born' from it. They have a high affinity for magic and aren't naturally gifted in other areas, and they cannot fit in to normal society to due to their abnormal affinity. The Aether-born are the children that would be considered a creature from a fairytale or fantasy book. Minotaurs, Goblins, Lizardmen or even going so far as to say 'Demons', by the weaker minded or superstitious.
Moonkin – The 'children of the moon', although that's just a name people who don't understand have given them. Moonkin have pale skin or fur, depending on what 'type' they are. Moonkin embody the pale serenity of the moon, and excel at the night. They cannot deal with excess amounts of exposure to the sun, but they are capable of surviving during the day. Any more than four hours of consecutive sunlight will leave them exhausted and 'sick'. The most common moonkin are silvery-furred wolf-mimi's and big-cat mimi's. But some moonkin are also 'Fae', and there are very RARE cases of Moonkin Chlorokin who need moonlight instead of sunlight.
Nanoinfused – Those who have been 'infected' by magical nanotech. These particular beings can come in various forms. Some have obvious cybernetic appearances, others have less pronounced markings. However, all nano-infused have a binary code SOMEWHERE on their body.. And some have it in several places, or all over them. They excel with technology and can interface with technology by having their internal nanites link up. This can be a double edged sword, because the magical nanites can be controlled by others if they have the frequency of them.. These nanites can do many things, but they are usually limited to up to three functions. -The three functions granted by the nanites must be written in the bio and approved. Once they are, these functions cannot change unless altered in game by a magical nanite scientist.
Other races can be suggested to me via PM on here or IRC, if you wish to make your own race, feel free to describe it in the bio to be accepted! The world is bigger than anyone can truly record after all.
