Restless family

Jack stared out the cracked window. It had been years since their parents had left. Jack traced his finger over a crack, as if it would tell him why. Their parents had left one night. His older brothers knew why, but they said nothing. Nothing. Jack wished his restlessness would leave. He wished his parents would come back. His mom had promised that. But his older brothers said to him: They aren't coming back. Ever.

Jack stumbled down the stairs in his PJ's. Their cabin was fairly small, but it was...good enough. In Colorado, they don't really have anything but log cabins. And it was always cold here. Jack shivered and sprawled out on the couch. They only had one car, and it was a rusty old pick up truck. But it was enough to drive the 5 miles to town and back to get food and such. In the mountains, the towns were normally small. There was but a small path through the pine tree woods that connected to the dirt road, that lead to town. His oldest brother drove there to get stuff. No one else knew how to drive. Jack thought about everything and nothing, as the heavy snow fell to earth. Amber the golden retriver, and Major the black lab lay sprawled on the rug in front of the fireplace. The logs were charred and black, and embers glowed softly, emitting little heat. Jack sighed. He waited for people to start waking up.

The sound of small but loud footsteps moving quickly down the stairs ring out, signifying that the most energetic member of the family, recently turned six-year-old Brad is awake. Brad being one of the two youngest boys, doesn't remember his parents much at all. To him, this life is the life he's always known. Though Brad is halfway in between three-year-old Jake and nine-year-old Jack's ages, he's almost always considered grouped in by the other family members with the younger Jake, as one of the "babies." rather than the older Jack. Brad is indeed pretty immature for his age, though he likes to think himself big. He may talk tough and sometimes pick on his younger brother/annoy his older ones, but as soon as he has an accident in the pullups he still has to wear he'll turn into a crying mess. Because of his more babyish tendencies, he's constantly trying to put himself over others to make himself feel better and bigger.

Because it's the morning, Brad is wearing not a pull-up but one of the diapers he always wears at night. Of course, with it being as cold as it is, you can't see a thing under his warm thick pajamas. Brad comes into view, seeing Jack, and making his way over to him, jumping over both dogs, and suddenly jumping up onto the couch sitting on Jack's stomach.

"'Ey Jack!" the small boy says with a grin.

"Agh...get off me...it's to early for this." growled jack, tiredly. "Do you want to wake the whole house up?"

"Maaaaaaaaaaaaybeeeeee" says Brad with a mischievous grin, bouncing up and down while sitting on Jack a bit with a giggle

"Go make yourself breakfast or somthing."

Tyler stumbles out of his room to see whats hapining "brekfast time already?"

Brad giggles knowing Jack is too tired to do much to stop him at the moment, and so he has free reign to do what he wants. At least until the older kids woke up. Brad wouldnt do this to his oldest older brothers for sure.

"Cmon Jack ya know I cant make it myself..." Brad says cheerily "So's I GOTTA wait for erryone else t'get up." he says, making no effort to get off of his older brother.

Tyler walks down the stairs and sees Brad " Oh. Hey Brad... you hungry?"

"Oh, morning' Ty." said jack as he shoved brad off him angrily.

Brad tumbles over sideways on the couch as Jack shoves him off. Brad gets up (but not before sticking his tongue out at Jack) and makes his way over to his older older brother.

" 'Ey Ty! Yea Im so hungry I could eatta jillion cows!" the small boy says excitedly dramatically holding his hands on his tummy
