The glow-vines seemed to radiate a sort of energy that quickened the healing process. It would staunch bleeding an seal wounds in half the time it normally took. Plus, they were fairly common flora in the irradiated world.

Both Jacen and Leon kept their weapons by their heads at all times. A serrated knife was hidden under their pillows.

Maia carefully made her way back to the village. Several of the nocturnal birds, reptiles and theropods were busy going about their business.

She passed by a Great Horned Owl. The Owl turned to the woman. "Late night harvesting?" she asked.

The Human yawned. "Yeah, I'm just going to put these away, wash up and go to bed.

Maia then made her way to the infimary where she handed the glow-vines to whoever was working there at this time.

Redcrest chirped as the bushes rustled. It was then he felt something nose his messy diaper. He growled in reply, causing whatever sniffed his messy diaper to run away.

The doctor, an older looking Velociraptor, nodded, ¨Thank you Maia.¨ he said in a cracky voice. He took the vines, and gently placed them into storage. They would be used if their need came to the forefront. He waved her off, as he went to bed.

About thirty minutes later, Leon switched off for Red. His rifle was trained on the darkness surrounding their little camp.

Redcrest gently tapped Leon's shoulder. "Hey Leon," he whispered. "I need some help changing my diaper before I go to sleep."

The Hawk who was escorting them sighed. "Red, don't you think you're old enough to change your own diapers?"

Maia bade the raptor farewell as she placed her machete back in the toolshed, she headed to the communal bathhouse where a cauldron of water was boiling over a fire along. She ladled out the boiling water into a bucket and poured some cold water from another bucket to cool it down. Stripping down, she dampened herself with the warm water and lathered up with a bar of soap that lay on a wooden tray. She then dumped the bucket of water over herself to rinse off and dried off with a towel.

Maia then changed into a light robe and headed to the bunkhouse where she lay down in her bed and soon fell asleep.

Leon playfully rolled his eyes, ¨Fine Red, but you´re changing yourself from now on.¨ he patted Red´s crest, as he got out the changing supplies. He untapped the diaper, gagging at the smell, and tossed it into the ¨fertilizer¨ bag they had brought along. He wiped and powdered his friend, then pulled the new one up and over him, taping it

Redcrest whined. "But I like having someone else change me!"

He looked at the new diaper swaddling his rump. It was a plain white cloth diaper that smelled faintly of rosemary.

He chittered and curled up in his nest, curling his tail around himself. The air was cool but not unpleasantly so.

The Hawk shook his head and turned to Leon. "For all of his hunting prowess, Red does act like a hatchling a lot. I mean, it seems someone else always has to change his diapers."

He then patted his own diaper. "Speaking of which...excuse me." He then dug around the wagon's supply for a diaper he could use. Untying his old diaper, he wiped himself off and then applied some homemade baby powder (courtesy of the corn farmers) before he tied his new diaper on and placed the used one in the fertilizer bag.

Leon snickered, ¨True, true.¨ He leaned against the large tree´s trunk. The shade was nice, even at night. ¨Maybe we should replace all his clothes with sleepers and crap.¨ he rubbed his chin, deep in throught.

The Hawk perched in the tree and looked down at the Compsognathus. "But he doesn't wear any clothing?"

As he looked at the diaper said Utahraptor was wearing, it was then the Hawk got an idea. "Maybe we can make him wear pink diapers or something?"

¨Oh, I think we may have some.¨ Leon grinned. They dyed diapers, and clothing, with berries or anything they could craft it from. With deft claws, he unpinned Red´s old diaper, and pinned a vibrant pink one onto the raptor, with barely a minute passing by.

Redcrest chittered in his sleep as his disper was exchanged. He sniffed the air as an interesting odor passed by him.

The Hawk chuckled softly as Leon performed the change. "I can't wait to see the expression on his face."

They would not have to wait long as sunrise was in a few hours and they would be getting ready to continue on their journey. That said, the Hawk examined their trade goods to ensure they were undamaged and no one had stolen anything.

Redcrest made some more snuffles and barks as he slept.
