[Diapee Girl]

Catherine smiled back down at her baby girl. "Hehe, it was my pleasure pumpkin. You loved that story so much, I figured it would be appropriate. I think I've read that book to you as a bedtime story at least two dozen times now, and it still puts a smile on your cute little face..." She cooed lovingly down to her, giving her a soft, affectionate pinch on he cheek as Martha patted her head.
Deciding Michelle deserved some attention to, the motherly woman kneeled down and rubbed her back. "And you have a good taste in stories too honey! Does your Mama read to you a lot?"

The diapered girl in question nodded eagerly. "Uh-huh! I wove dat story too!" She answered, grinning at Brooke. "Yeah, Mommy reads to me a wot! She's weally good at it!" Shelly giggled, beaming up at Martha. Story time was one of her favorite new 'baby' activities that they did together.

"Aw... well thank you, sweetie..." Martha replied with a loving smile after having given Michelle's little friend some attention. "I promised little Shelly that we're going to read every story on the bookshelf in the nursery..."

Brooke, upon hearing this, opened her mouth in adorable fashion. "Weally? Dat's a wot!" She stated, dumbfounded by just the thought.

Cathy only giggled, now sitting on the floor and leaning up against the nearby crib next to the toy chest. "Well that sounds like a wonderful opportunity for you two to stay nice and cuddled up together and bond." She remarked warmly, simply adoring the new, loving relationship between Michelle and Martha. The two were practically truly mother and daughter now!
"But for now, how about you two cuties have some fun with the toys? This one contraption little Shelly brought here certainly looks interesting..." She cooed, showing them the object she was holding; the 'See and Say' toy that Michelle had brought to bring back with her when they came back to the nursery. The little brunette currently had the rattle in one hand, and her Teddy bear curled up in her arm.

Brooke looked up to the device with a puzzled expression. Admittedly, she had never even seen such a strange-looking object, her mother never having introduced something like this to her. It looked like a weird... circle with a big, yellow point in the center, and some pictures of piggies and duckies and other animals she had come to learn about with the help of her mother. "Oh... what's dat?" The girl asked aloud, tilting her head.

The babyfied brunette smiled happily, setting down her rattle and taking the electronic toy from her friend's caregiver. "Tank oo Caffy..." She babytalked politely with a shy blush, a little embarassed she had forgotten it.
Setting it on the floor between her and Brooke, she explained "It's weally neat! You spin da toy, and the arrow lands on one of da barn animals! Then, it tells oo the Animal and the noise it makes! Hewe, give it a try." Shelly then pushed the toy up to she maroon-haired girl a little and showed her he proper way to spin it.

Brooke, not wanting to reject the offer, cranked the little lever of the toy which caused the arrow to suddenly spin. She followed it very closely with her eyes, already becoming dizzy as Martha noticed this while managing to contain her giggles. The wheel eventually stopped on a creature with white, puffy fur and a silly-looking face.

"The sheep goes... BAAAH!" The voice of a woman came out followed by a strange animal noise. The girl, in question, correlated the animal in the picture with the sound that she had just heard. "Oh! Sheep go bah!" She replied, clapping her hands before setting them back down and waiting for the girl to spin now.

"Should we leave these two cuties alone to play for now?" Martha asked her friend, a part of her wanting to discuss the matter of adoption in private.

Cathy, fighting back the urge to squeal at how cute Brooke's reaction was, snapped back to the situation at hand when Martha spoke to her. "Oh yes, of course." She responded, nodding and getting back to her feet.
"Girls?" The purple-haired woman spoke, getting both the infantile children to turn their heads. "Both me and Martha are going to head back out to the living room to discuss grown-up things. You two sweeties play nice, okay? If either one of you two need anything, anything at all, just cry out for us; either one or both of us will be right here in a jiffy to take care of everything. Okay?"

Michelle had just been about to give the toy a whirl, but looked up upon the announcement that both her an Brooke's 'Mommies' would be leaving the room. Naturally, she was a little sad to see Martha go, but she knew it wouldn't be forever. Besides she had Brooke to keep her company. "Otay..." She spoke, her disappointment still a little obvious.

The woman, wanting her potentially soon-to-be daughter to feel better, approached her and gave her a kiss on the top of her head. "Don't worry, honey; I'll be back soon. Just like Cathy said, if you need anything, just cry out." She stated, now standing up and walking out of the room with her friend.

Brooke wasn't as taken back from this news as Michelle was. She spent enough time in this place to know that her mother's absence would be temporary. So, she sat patiently and waited for them to leave... and when they did, she began to speak in a slightly different tone. It was still soft and sweet, but the words seemed so much more composed and intelligible:
"So... you look like you're enjoying yourself a lot more." She replied with a smile, genuinely happy to see Michelle enjoying herself.

Martha's comforting making her feel a little better, she waved to the two motherly women as they left the nursery. "Bye bye Mama!" She called out after them. Then, it was just her and Brooke alone together.
The pampered brunette was about to stick the pacifier hanging off her onesie into her mouth when her playmate spoke up, this time in her 'normal' voice instead of her 'baby' voice. A little embarassed about her question, Shelly blushed a tiny bit but nodded sheepishly. "Yeah..." She admitted, looking down at the floor. "I just...kinda realized dat this wasn't as bad as I was makin' it out to be..." She continued. "I...understand how you feel now...and it actually is pwetty nice..."

"I know! I'm gwad dat chu feel dis way now! Hehe!" The girl giggled, afterword cupping her hand against her mouth and then releasing. "Hehe... sorry. I just... like talking like that when I'm weally excited... and I do it because my Mama thinks it's cute and I get all warm and fuzzy inside when I'm around her..."
