Cool Saw: Grey Lines (Private RP for Poesdaughter)

It was a normal day to say the least; the sun was out shinning, birds chirping away happily as if life was a fairy tale, yea right. Instead it was raining heavily; many people disliked the rain except for a few and one of those few was a young professor known as Lion.

Lion wasn’t that tall or that short but his height was above average than most, he had a ghastly appearance to say the least pale skin near enough to rival that of a white wall, enormous eyes, big black ones that seem to shine and glimmer with nothing but sweetness and if not a tad bit of loneliness from what happened a couple a weeks back. He wasn’t that buff, Lion was more on the skinny, shrimp like side but that didn’t mean he had strength, he had plenty of strength but his true strength was his creativity, his way to work things out and get to the end of things.

Lion didn’t like his original name for many good reasons, that’s why he used his last name. His hair at the moment was a sloppy spikey mess most of it sticking to his neck and shoulders while his overgrown fringe was stuck over his eye and down to his chin, curving slightly around his chin. On his skin were little scars of the past, some of them noticeable others not, the only true noticeable one’s was his eye, the one which his hair covers most of the time. His eye was saved at a cost, his eye had to be done up similar to Mad-Eye’s in Harry Potter, so now to most of his students they would call him Mad Eye, well previous students, thought Lion with a small frown which had replaced the ever growing smile.

His other scar was that where his hair covered, it went right from the top of his forehead down to his neck in a straight line, slashing his eye. People didn’t notice though thanks to his hair, he only let his class seen his ‘true-self’ or more so his ‘true body’ it was only right. He had to show them, show them what they were getting into so they could avoid the mistake’s he did and that was when his downfall happened.

His hands were perfect because they were so imperfect if people took the time to notice they would see many faded scars, none of his own doing but scars of help, he had saved people. His hands saved people; his hands were those of helping and of comfort.

So at this moment he had been walking, walking to someone’s home or was it a workplace, thought Lion not really caring at the moment as he walked towards the door, knocking on it four times, waiting for the person to open it. He had talked to this person over the phone just yesterday and in the early hours in the morning, this person, Doctor Gordon seemed troubled? By Lion’s news and many more things Lion had pointed out, this was supposed to be a simple interview for the police and the local papers but it wasn’t, that was a cover up for something bigger, something much bigger.

Unnoticed in the shadows stood a figure watching Lion, this person wasn’t a part of any Jigsaw plans but something much worse, laughing lightly he took out a small handheld set, “Now.” stated the figure, obviously male by the deep sound of his voice.

A couple miles away an explosion happened but not just anywhere and not just a building, the building that went boom and up in flames was Lion’s apartment, his own apartment with every single bit of data he had collected since he was a child on everyone and everything.

The only problem being Lion had a set of keys to a ‘safe-hold’ with the same data and some extra bits of it which his cousin Kerry helped store and find as well as Eric Matthews, her partner. There was more to their story than meets the eye, mused Lion to himself, only to hear and see the handle turn.

Doctor Gordon owed a lot to Jigsaw, much more than he could try to explain, but the game had taken one more thing from him than his ability to walk without a cane. Alison had not been able to take that fear in her husband’s eyes, that way his body shook violently with nerves when he heard the sound of a creaking floorboard, or the way he woke at night with terrors making him stumble from their bed. He didn’t blame the woman for leaving him, because he’d never been a good husband, and he didn’t blame her for taking Diana, because he’d been barely any better of a father.

In his darkest moment, once again, he had sought out Jon and he had found a father in him. The man had shown him through the darkness, some form of light, perhaps a black-light would best describe it. Lawrence had found that as he continued to seek Jon, and continued to agree to play a new sort of “game” that he had recreated a family to replace the one that he lost. Amanda’s dark eyes worked over him nervously at times, but still, beneath her adrenaline addiction, she was the make believe sister. Mark, would remain, more than a brother, a rival, more a threatening figure who wanted to play alpha-male.

Yet Jigsaw was Dr. Gordon’s Master as he had never known a Master in Jesus Christ. He was the Father that replaced the one who had walked out so many years ago, and therefore the mentor he never would have known. So for all of the worship that Lawrence could summon for him, he hated to see Jon’s name tied to petty unrelated crimes which had no meaning. His genius would never stoop so low as to be tied to these things, and so Dr. Gordon found himself moved as the victim that was known to survive to dismiss the stories.

So when the knock came at the door, Dr. Gordon walked to it, reaching for the knob right as the bombs went off. At first noise from them, he felt to his knees, worried for the shock that might shake through the city from the explosions. Of course, the shock waves never struck because the explosion had been too far away to set off that effect, but for a moment Lawrence stayed on his knees waiting for the strike. Finally, he had stood up when he realized that only the sound had been so close, and he opened the door cautiously for the man outside.

“Hello. Lion?” He greeted the man, opening the door to his home to invite the man inside and out of the growing crowd the street was becoming. “Do come in.”

Lion looking at the man in front of him smiled sweetly showing off his teeth which weren’t that impressive or would be if it was Halloween. Lion had bad or better yet awful teeth but that’s what most people would say but just like his name sake, Lion had teeth similar to that of a lion, sharp and pointy. It was obvious that Lion’s teeth were damaged previously a long time ago, thanks to a mission that didn’t go quite as planned but nothing ever does.

Lion took his time looking over the man, a small smile still in place as he touched Doctor Gordon’s shoulder, “There’s no need to worry.” stated Lion in more of a soft, undertone whisper as he looked Doctor Gordon in the eye, black meets blue.

Snapping his head backwards, Lion frowned as he had heard the explosion before and for reasons that he had suspected but never come to, he feared that it might have been where he lived or even his own apartment which was set against many other apartments.

Even though worried Lion turned back to Doctor Gordon a smile on his face, his eyes closed as he let out a brief chuckle, a chuckle of something of some kind of emotion, “Sorry I have to make a phone call,” said Lion walking through the door, “and yes, it’s me Lion.” chuckled Lion, grabbing a hold of Gordon’s hand in his own, he brought it up to his lips to kiss it, a small smile in place as he went to grab his phone out of his pocket.

Scrolling down the contact list he hit Kerry’s number and put the phone on speaker, so even Doctor Gordon could hear, “Hello Kerry, it’s Lion I just heard another explosion….” stated Lion in a strong and determined voice, his eyes scrunching up as he half glared at the door, a small smirk touching his lips at Kerry’s comment.

“My apartment?” asked Lion, looking at Doctor Gordon. Lion wasn’t surprise at all by this fact; he was bored more than anything else, a slight snort escaping now and again at his cousin. Only to chuckle lightly, “Well, do you still have the keys?” asked Lion, hearing his cousin say yes, he hanged up. His eyes glittering with anticipation as he looked at Doctor Gordon, “I know this might be a bit of a rush and all, so why don’t we sit down and have a cup of tea?” suggested Lion, putting the phone back into his pocket, a sweet smile returning to his face his tone of voice changing as well.

“You already know the basic’s and or even or basis of what’s happening right?” questioned Lion as he took a seat, his clothes dripping wet as well as his hair, moving a hand through his hair more so his fringe. A small twinkle reflected off his mechanical eye as he placed his right hand over his ‘mad’ eye. His shoulders and back hunched over as he looked up at Gordon, the palm of his hand still covering his injured eye.

An idea accruing in his head, “Gordon,” whispered Lion very lightly, “I wouldn’t do this but we need to trust each other, so,” mumbled Lion removing his hand, showed Doctor Gordon his eye and part of his scar, a smile still on his face as he lightly laughed, a small laugh almost a chuckle, “stupid, eh?” whispered Lion still looking at Gordon his fringe now slick backwards thanks to the rain and wetness and because it was Lion’s choice.

An unanswered question was in the air, Lion had suspected it many times and still did that Jigsaw isn’t working alone, not now. He also had theories of two apprentices, sometimes three but he would always dismiss that idea. It wasn’t that Lion wanted to bring Jigsaw down, he just wanted to know the man behind the mask and the real reason he does these sorts of things. In a way Lion respected Jigsaw greatly but was also very weary of him, Lion never feared Jigsaw or ever fears him, he never and never will.

“I’m not worried.” Dr. Gordon sighed to Lion before the man moved away to make a phone call. Sure, he had PTSD, but from his few interviews with the news he would have hoped that he didn’t come off to the world as a trembling kitten now. He had been a lost lamb brought back to the herd; if anything he was stronger now than he had been before.

He listened with mild interest to the conversation with Kerry, finding that it might be very useful to have Lion on his side if he had such close connections with someone who would be able to prove that this was someone other than the Jigsaw Killer. As if Jon would have been involved in something so petty, as if even Hoffman would have stooped so low as to carry out mindless mass murders…no, Lawrence couldn’t see the motivation which was encouraging the bomber.

“Well, a man like me should know better than to ask this,” The doctor said with only a hint of self mockery upon seeing Lion’s scar and false eye bared. He moved to put the kettle on to boil water then, limping towards the stove as he preferred not to bring his cane with him when he could avoid it. It made him feel dependent, which was a feeling he chose to ignore. At times he wondered if that hadn’t been part of the lesson, but he pushed that thought away. His mind was going too many places today. “But how did you get those scars?”

Lawrence turned to face Lion then, looking over his face with a calm and collected expression. He was wary of giving much credit to the promise that they could trust each other yet, though he was only mildly unnerved by the actual gesture. He had seen his patients remove their wigs as a way of taking away any form of mask, so he assumed that the eye had the same sentiment. Playing dumb worked so much better than it should have; it was surprising how many people assumed that Dr. Gordon would have managed to make it through medical school with how naive he played to be.

Lion wasn’t an idoit, he knew when people played dumb or when they were simply trying to get out of something, for heaven sake’s he’s a professor. He could only stare amusingly at Gordon, a dark chuckle escaping his lips, “Not worried, eh?” whispered Lion quietly on the couch, laughing slightly, “Gordon, you do know who these people are, don’t you?” asked Lion, his eyebrow raised ever so slightly.

“Yes a man like you,” stated Lion, a small smirk on his face, “a man like you.” whispered Lion his eyes glazing over from past memories in his head stood a man, a man that was a fate worse than death, a fate worse than death, Lion felt his body shake ever so slightly at least the Jigsaw victims had a chance, at least they had a damn chance.

Closing his eyes, Lion sighed his teeth clenched, “These scars are old,” mumbled Lion, “this one I got on my first assignment,” stated Lion, pointing to a small yet deep one on his hand, it seemed that whatever was used had pierced the skin on the palm of the hand and broke through to the back.

“It was this convict, a cold case,” whispered Lion his body shrugged forward, “he was never prosecuted, four people died when we caught him,” muttered Lion his eyes looking downwards at the floor, “it was strange he was never trailed so I did my own research, the government they.” growled Lion, clutching his hands tightly into fists, “they paid the damn jury, that damn, let’s just say he’s got a job as a government pawn for now.” breathed Lion obviously angry, it wasn’t right that convict should have been brought to justice.

He felt his lips go dry, “anyway I was on that case with Kerry our first case together,” muttered Lion twiddling his fingers, “she saved my life,” mumbled Lion, “he was on top of me and he had me pinned down that’s when he grabbed this screw and simply,” snorting lightly Lion chuckled bitterly, “he simply slammed it down into both of my hands, so yea that’s how I got that scar.” sighed Lion, rubbing the back of his neck.

A small frown appearing on his face, “Gordon I need your help,” whispered Lion his dark eyes meeting Gordon’s own, “and not just yours, Jigsaw’s too.” stated Lion in a firm voice, no longer light and no longer soft, his eyes cold.

“Not only that, the police,” sighing slightly Lion stared at Gordon, “I don’t care about Jigsaw or what he does or even his life views,” stated Lion firmly and loud, “what I do care about is a group of people killing others for no apparent reason,” stated Lion, “at least Jigsaw has a reason.” whispered Lion quietly.

“I’d think that I have enough to my name that if I were to know who these people were that I would have already reported them to the police and you wouldn’t be here asking me this.” Dr. Gordon said quickly after hearing Lion’s laugh; he couldn’t believe that the man would laugh at him already and he responded with a mock sarcasm. God, he’d been through enough that he would figure that there would be some respect for his ability to gauge his own emotions; he just wasn’t worried by the bomber. Maybe, just maybe, it was silly to be as confident about it as he was, but then most killers knew better than to play with other killers’ toys. Jigsaw’s mark on him made him feel immune to whoever this was.

He listened to the man’s story with interest, keeping his face calm and without response till the appropriate time to cringe. He turned away then quickly, busying himself with making their tea as he considered what the man had said. Had he not helped force a woman to dig out her own eye? Doctor Gordon had never liked hearing the screaming; he didn’t like watching the game be played the way that Detective Hoffman did. He liked knowing there were results which he could tell himself were worth the suffering the victims had endured. They ultimately had learned to value their life; so had Lion not done the same? Did your life feel less valuable if you were not the one to save it?

The doctor hobbled over carefully to hand Lion his tea, keeping a hand over the top of both cups so they didn’t spill with his jerky motions. He still hadn’t quite gotten down the motion of walking with the prosthetic and the last thing he needed was to try to clean hot tea out of his carpet. Lion was a rare sort of creature in his mind, and he forced himself to respond to the story finally now that he could no longer feign actions to keep his attention split. “It’s lucky that Detective Kerry was there in time.” He said softly.

Fuck was the first word to come to Lawrence’s mind when he heard the other man call on Jigsaw; he hated having to somehow reflect his relationship of any sort to Jon. Follow your heart, indeed; he was not Amanda, he couldn’t come off as won over by the man. He didn’t need to show anything that could be taken as a sign of Stockholm’s syndrome, and more than that, he didn’t need to have to people thinking that he was tied to the Jigsaw Killer any further than having been the man’s…patient. His eyes turned cold, and Dr. Gordon found that his voice reflected at least part of the annoyance at the subject being brought up, if not for the proper reasoning.

“I think you’re looking in the wrong place.” Dr. Gordon lied, voice as cold as it had for the one interview he had given to the police after he had reappeared in society, it tended to come off more sickened at the memories than at his intentions of hiding the relationship. They had mostly left him alone, he hadn’t been able to tell them anything, or at least, hadn’t wanted to. He was obedient to his Master; all he had sworn he saw as darkness and the mechanical sounds of the recording had been all that he had heard. “The only ties I have to Jigsaw were removed at the same time the chain was; he’s not exactly on my Christmas card list.” Well, Jon hadn’t signed it Jigsaw.

“Even, if by some turn of events, you did find someone who knew where that madman was…what makes you think I would want to work with him?” He asked quickly, hand trembling against his own cup enough that he had to put it down to keep from burning his palm. “I would think that after your own run in with death that you would understand that. ”

Lion couldn’t believe it, “Report them to the police, please tell me your joking.” Stated Lion looking seriously at Doctor Gordon, “part of them is already in the police, they’ve taken over the police or most police squads.” Sighed Lion, wiping at his forehead, his tone of voice serious, aggressive and if not a little bit blood thirsty as his eyes darted around the room.

“Look you were Jigsaw’s first but that doesn’t mean Jigsaw was the first ever murder to put people into traps.” Whispered Lion much more softly, calmer with a lighter yet even more serious tone in his voice as he smiled, a strained smile almost as if it hurt to smile, “Doctor Gordon don’t let this visit be in vain, please.” mumbled Lion in a begging almost pleading tone it was obvious to anyone that Lion hated things, dreams or anything die out in vain and somehow his eyes sparkled more rapidly than normally his soft gaze, glazing into Doctor Gordon’s own eyes.

Lion looking up at Doctor Gordon grinned hugely his shark like teeth showing, they weren’t normal and was if not the most horrid and most frightening part about Lion’s overall features, people would simple back away in fear but did Lion care, no. So as Doctor Gordon handed Lion the cup of tea he couldn’t help but grin at the generosity, “It was,” laughed Lion half-heartedly, his laugh light and soft like the breeze now, “we grew up together,” stated Lion looking at the cup going cock eyed at it, “we were very close until things fell apart,” whispered Lion bringing the drink to his lips as he took a small sip, “we were 14, things changed, people changed and not in a good way.” Sighed Lion putting down his cup of tea.

Lion couldn’t help but grin once again, “Really?” asked Lion in a joking manner his grin full, “You know, you’re pretty good but I am related to Kerry, after all she is my cousin.” smirked Lion with a shake of his head, this was obvious. To him it was obvious all you needed were connection’s and he had connection’s, he also knew….he also knew…..what did he knew? Lion cringed slightly holding his head, it seemed he suffered more than just some altered teeth, some scaring and a stupid eye. It seemed something was missing, a memory, a part of his life he would never get back.

“Sorry.” Mumbled Lion rubbing the back of his neck, “Bad memory, bad at remembering things.” Mumbled Lion again and again, twice in a row rubbing the back of his head and neck, “Why, well that’s up to you but tell or even ask yourself this, if you were accused by a crime you didn’t commit, what would happen? Actually no better yet tell me, what do you know about them, these bombers as such?” asked Lion smirking, “And for a start they aren’t bomber’s.” whispered Lion almost with a wounded look.

“That wasn’t a run in with death, I’ve been running from it since I was fourteen.” Whispered Lion, carefully looking at Doctor Gordon unsure as what to do at this moment in time.
