Katsuki liked these quiet dinners, and ate quietly, not finding a reason to start conversation. He did occasionally look up from his food and tilt his head at Izuku, noting the look on his face and sighing as he finished his food. "if you'd like, could help you with the dishes auntie?"

Inko, who had just started gathering the dinner dishes paused in her actions when Katsuki offered to help her. "If you'd like to help then that would be wonderful Katsuki. Although don't feel like you need to help around the house while your staying with us." Inko reassured.
Izuku still wasn't sure to make of this whole situation. Kacchan was acting so different from the way Izuku had grown used to over the years. Izuku found himself wanting to observe KAcchan's behaviour a little more closely to see if he could determine a reason as to why there seemed to be such a change since they had gotten home. "Kacchan and I can handle the dishes Mom. You work so hard all the time as it is, let us help you out a little while were both here." Izuku reasoned. Inko looked aprehensive since she was used to taking care of things but she decided to accept the help from both of the boys.

Katsuki was about to insist that he do the dishes himself, when Izuku said that he'd help. Katsu was a bit suspicious of Dekus urge to help all of a sudden. But, he simply went along with it... Until Inko left the room. "Alright, why'd you really want to do the dishes deku. Your mom looked really confused when you offered to help which is how I know that this isnt normal." The male said, all while filling the sink with soapy water.

Kacchan's question caught Izuku off gaurd. He knew the blond was smart but Izuku hadn't expected for Kacchan to see through him that fast. It also didn't help that Izuku was a horrible liar. Izuku let out a small sigh before speaking, since he was going to have to be honest. "I know you already told me that you're fine and I know you hate it that I won't give up when I feel like someone needs my help, not that you need my help, I'm not saying you do; I know that you can take care of yourself. It's just that you've been acting different than you usually do. You seem really tense about something, but i can't figure out what it is. But you've also had this sort of...softness...that keeps coming from you every time Mom talks you. I don't know how to describe it better than that, I just know that if anyone else treated you like Mom has been since we got home, you would have thrown a fit. I guess I'm just a little worried about you, and I know you don't want me to be, but I can't help it. I really care about you Kacchan and I just want you to know that you can trust me and that I am here to help if something is bothering you."

Katsuki, with his back to the green haired male, listened to his concerned ramblings, turning off the water so he could hear better. After a moment or two of thinking the blonde finally turned around, his arms crossed loosely as that seemed to be his default position. "Deku. I act different around your mom because this is how she knows me. She knows me by the me when I was just a kid. And I really don't want her to think of my otherwise because her opinion of me is one of the only people I knows opinion that matters. My mom can go to hell, my dad is a spineless loser who can go with her-" Katsuki paused and he dug his nails into his forearms, breaking eye contact with Izuku. "And like I've said, I'm fine. It's just- It's been so long since I've been here, it feels like a new place. And staying somewhere new always made it hard to sleep. That's why I'm tense."

Izuku's eyes widened at Kacchan's honesty because he hadn't expected it. Izuku figured that Kacchan would put on his usual 'I'm an asshole so leave me alone loser' type of attitude and brush off all of Izuku's concerns. It made Izuku's heart beat speed up at the thought that he and Kacchan were actually connecting in some sort of meaningful way. "My mom loves you Kacchan, no matter what you do or how you act. She won't think any different of you for just being yourself. It also won't matter how much time goes by because this will always be a place you can call home if you want too or...need too."

Katsuki narrowed his eyes at Izuku before turning back to the dishes. "Who said I wasn't being myself, Deku?" The blonde said simply, tuning out whatever else the male decided to ramble on about. "I'll wash, you rinse." Baking said as he finished washing one dish, holding it out to Izuku with a soft impatient huff. The blonde continued mindlessly washing the dishes, deep in thought. Should he tell izuku? No, it'll be fine that only happens sometimes- and even if it did happen he could just get rid of the evidence.

Izuku felt like there was still something Kacchan was keeping from him but decided to drop the subject for now. They then settled into an easy rhythm of washing the dishes together until they finished the task.
"Thank you for cleaning up the kitchen boys." Inko said as she came back into the kitchen to check on them only to see that all the dishes had been washed. "I think you two deserve a little reward for being so thoughtful. How does some ice cream sound?"

The male let it a sigh as he finished the dishes, jumping at the sound of Inkos voice. He didn't even hear her walk in, her footsteps where so quiet compared to those in his own house. When she began talking about a reward the male sighed, then perked up a bit at the mention of ice cream. Yet he still 'argued' a bit. "You really don't have to do that Auntie- it's common courtesy to help clean up a mess you made." He stated, though he had a feeling that she was just going to insist like Izuku had been. That's one way the two at the same, like mother-like son...

"It's still very much appreciated. I also just want to spoil the two of you while you're here with me."" Inko said as she went over to the freezer, pulling out the container of ice cream and setting it on the counter before opening the kitchen cabinets to get a few bowls. "You boys have been through so much this year..." She started to say as she picked up the ice cream scoop. When she thought about everything that had happened to Izuku and Katsuki since they had started school at UA, her hands started to shake slightly as she started portioning the ice cream into the bowls she had set out. "...I'd like to be able to give you both a little bit of happiness."
