Telling friends
So I am really curious what you all think about this. Would you tell your best friend you like to wear diapers?
I am just curious mainly because I really don't know.
Is it seen as a good idea or a bad idea?
My views on this are as such. If I was to weigh out the possibilities, I can only see majority bad things, as I had it happen to me in the past. The way I see it is, if you are telling them, why are you telling them? In my case, to be more open to the person and I feel I can trust them. It all seems fine and dandy till you start weighing what thoughts they can have on why you told them.
Their thoughts could consist of:
1. They need someone to talk to.
2. It's weird, I don't know what to say.
3. Why did he/she tell me this?
4. Did they want me to be invovled?
5. It's kinda gross.
6. I don't understand it.
7. Are they trying to make a move on me.
8. Is he/she wearing one now?
9. I don't really care.
10. Ok? o.o Why?
11. This is kind of awkward.
I can't see any other possible reactions to it, unless they where an AB/DL themselves. They may say "Oh I see, hey it's fine with me, doesn't bother me". But that doesn't say what is going on through their head.
So even if everything seems fine it can cause an awkward atmosphere to form. Is this a risk one is willing to take with a best friend?
Them finding out by accident is tons better because it only creates awkwardness at first. But once that awkawardness goes away .. it wil not continue cause they are not left wondering why you told them, because you didn't.
It is like the same if you where gay, and you told your best friend, same sex, that you are gay. It creates an awkward atmosphere from then on. While if they found out by accident, it wouldn't bother them as much.
These are my thoughts as I have experience in many areas that are similar. Being transgender, Bi, and an AB/DL.

i think it depends on the friend if she/he has been a friend for years and you both share deep dark secrets with each other it MIGHT be possible to tell she/he.

all but one of my friends already know that i wear 'em.
they're all cool about it, and even offer to help me buy 'em when i'm low on cash.
i only haven't told my one friend about it because i think he already kinda knows, but if i tell him the truth, he may stop being my friend, which i wouldn't want to have happen.

@Nanami_Lucia35: You have some good friends. How do they know? Did you just tell them?
@trxdltree: I suppose you are right. The more secrets you have with a friend, the more likely they wouldn't find it odd that you told them. I suppose kinda like the situation with one of my friends. He knows everything about me, and I know everything about him.
I would like to point out though, if you had not had one of these secret sharing conversations with your best friend, I wouldn't recommend telling them just staight out of no where.
Lets put it this way, I told a x-friend about it and he said it was ok and he wouldn't tell anyone. Long story short nearly the whole school I used to go to ... knew about the diapers because of him. Funny thing is though ... no one really said anything about it, besides him. He turned out to be really immature, and always used it against me in any type of disagreement. He would even shout about it in front of others. Lesson learned the hard way >.> lol.

Pretty muchly, yes, i finally just got tired of having to hide when they're around, so i just came out with it and told 'em. they're nice enough to keep it a secret, and true enough friends to stay friends with me even after knowing.

I've only told two of my friends about it. The first one was because I was staying at his place for a few months. The second one was my roommate. I think it'd be awkward if he found out. At least they were cool about it.

Unless you hit jackpot and find out that your friend is also an ABDL(1/10,000?) the best you can really hope for is that the subject never comes up again. If you hang out on ADISC or somewhere else that they allow minors you see the results of kids telling their friends and it ends in disaster on a somewhat regular basis.

I've told a few good friends, and they took it well. It really depends on how understanding your friend is.
