Troubled Twins (private)

Lillian sat up in bed rubbing her eyes with a sigh. It was pretty early as always when Lily woke up. The young teen suffered from insomnia so had real trouble sleeping and was often tiered in the day. She had this because of stress. She was stressed for many reasons but one of the biggest of which was the fact she was worried about her twin sister Lucy and herself at the moment as today they were meeting their new foster parents. Since the girls were 9 years old and there mother and father died in an accident they have been in and out of at least one foster home a year and now at the age of 15 the hope of them finding a family was very slim. Lily truly hated the idea of going to foster family's which is why she never made an effort to get along with any family as she knew that no one was replacing her and her sister's mommy and daddy who they both loved dearly.

Lily smiled sadly as she looked over at her sister sleeping in the bed next to hers. She could see from here that her plastic sheet on her bed was wet. Lily loved her sister and got on very well with her but did like to tease her a bit about her childish bed wetting habit ( even though Lily herself has a few secret babyish habits such as sucking her thumb and cuddling up with her teddy, which her sister teases her about). The orphanage didn't make kids wear diapers for bed wetting if they were over 6 but Lucy did have to have a plastic sheet on her bed.

Lily got up and ran her hand though her short messy brown hair. She had very soft rather fluffy hair which sat in a very messy bob on her head. She had pale blue eyes and was rather strong. She was a little chubby but not really fat but defiantly not skinny.She dressed in a baggy black boys t shirt and some blak skinny jeans. She sighed a little embarssed that at 15 neather her or her sister really needed a bra mind you it didn't bother Lily too much as it weant with the butch look she was going for.

At around 1 Jack and his wife left there home in the country to go and pick up the twins. Two weeks ago Molly, the twins shoshal worker phoned them pleading that they would take them in as they were the only ones eh could think of that would be abel to handel them. Now at age 40 Jack was ready to give up fostering kids but when he herd about the girls and how sweet they could be and why they had been in and out of so many homes him and his wife knew they could help them. So today they were goin g to pick them up.

Jack was very tall and well built man. He had black hair ( which was greying at the sides) and a bit of stubel. He looked strong but was a big teddy bear inside. He worked from home selling funuture he made in the huge barn he had at home. Years ago he was a very sucesful man so him and his wife had plenty of money.

Lucy woke at around eight in the morning, which was cutting it reather close since the orphanage served breakfast promptly at half past eight, but she had always been something of a deep sleeper and even when she was in shallow sleep enjoyed the comfort of a bed so would usually try to use every spare minitue of the morning pretending to be asleep so she could enjoy the nice warm sensations and cuddle a pillow to herself.

Unfortuantly Lucy's fondness for staying in bed wasn't simply about being lazy. She suffered from depression at times and when her mood was at it's worse their were days she would say she was feeling sick and wouldn't get out of bed, sometimes not even to used the toilet.
Those were the days which she just didn't feel like she could face the world and choose instead to try and sleep until a better day came.

Today was a different day though, today had been building in trepidation and excitment for weeks, today they were finally going to a new foster home. Maybe this one might work out?
If her sister Lilly could try harder to accept this new couple that was.
The problem was Lilly was that she still she felt like going to live with a new family was like turning their backs on Mum and Dad, couldn't she see that anything was better than staying in an orphanage?

Since today was a specail and important day, when Lucy did wake she was wide awake, yawning and streaching her slightly scrawny frame beneath her sheets with a happy smile.
A smile that soured quicker than an open milk carton left in a airing cuboard.
She had to resist physically voicing her repulsion as she felt her pajamas her sticking coldly to her back, bottom and legs.

Her expression was downcast, wet again! And of all the days! she would need to be quick if she wanted breakfast.
Without moving she checked if her sister was still here. unfortunatly she was, getting dressed or maybe even already packing her things knowing how early Lilly got up.

Lucy decided it was best to pretend she was still asleep until lilly was gone and pulled the duvet back up to the fringe of her honey coloured hair, feeling misarble in her soaked condition but it was better than being teased.

Lilly liked to tease, it gave her a bit of power Lucy supposed and it wasn't as if she herself was always nice to Lilly. In any case things were better now that her and Lilly had their own little room to share, before they had always been with a bunch of other kids in the larger rooms, which made Lucy's 'bad' nights all the worse but now since she and Lucy were the oldest kids at the orphanage and going through 'changes' they had been given more privacy.

Lucy kept her eyes shut tight listening to her sister's movements so she could tell when she was gone. She tried to put her thoughts of the gross discomfort of her cold wet clothes by imagining how nice it would be to move in with a new set of foster parents. Maybe she would even get her own room that she wouldn't have to share with anyone?

Violet was anxiously stroking her hands which rested on her lap as she sat in the car while her husband Jack drove.
She was sure she had gotten everything ready for the girls. Nearly certain. Oh what if she had forgotten something important?
They had both taken care of children before though, so she tried to convice herself not to worry so much.

Lily was packing her sisters and her own stuff. She would normally just pack her own but she could tell that her sister was going to sleep in and if it was one of her bad days it would be quicker if Lily packed for both of them. Lucy's bad day's worried Lily not that she didn't undertsnad them suffering from depression as well herself but Lily's depression made it's self known in different way, which weren't always as clear as her sisters.When her sister did have bad days Lily did what she could to make her happy some times that man cuddling up in bed with her but more often it just meant giving her time and making sure no one disturbed her.

Lily herd her sister stir a bit and turned around. She thought she may be awake and looked at the time they both really needed to go and get brekfast so she went up to her bed and shoke her gentaly. "Lucy wake up you can't miss breakfast today and you need to clean up before the room starts to smell like a diaper"She said playfuly at the end.

Lily then fished up packing by quickly putting her teddy bear in her bag with a photo of them with there mother and father. She then headed down stairs with there bags and left them in the office knowing the drill when it came to fostering by now. She loved sharing a room with her sister and wouldn't want to have it any other way for two reasons she was protective of her sister and she felt safer around her.

Jack smiled and while still not taking his eyes off the road patted his wife's knee."Hun relax everything will be fine if anyone can handle two teens that have lost there way it's us"He said smiling.

They lived about a hour out of the city in a big old house in the forest . The owned a good patch of land with a big garden which had a play area in it and a barn and not far from the house at the end of a little path in the forest was a large lake great for swimming in.

"Hmmpf!" was all Lucy replied, annoyed at herself for getting caught, unfortaly she had to admit she did smell pretty badly of stale urine.
Getting out of bed and stripped off her wet pajama's, living in an orphanage for so long meant she wasn't really embrassed about being seen naked, least of all by her own sister, it was worse being seen in pee stained sleepwear.
She grabbed a long towel before her sister could pack it away, without saying a word since she was still cross about the diaper comment, and wrapped it around herself before leaveing to room so she could go take a shower in the communial bathroom.
Fortunatly everyone was already finished since she was running late and she managed to shower in peace, feeling better in herself now that she was clean and refreshed.

Returning to the room Lucy undid her sister's work further by digging out the clothes she wanted to wear from the bottom of the bag. She wasn't doing it to be spiteful she just wanted to make sure she looked good and made a good impression.
She put her green dress, she had saved for months to buy it, but it was her favourite and she took good care of it.

Afterwards she stuffed everything which had fallen out back into her bag except some of the make up things which she would leave out for after breakfast since their wasn't time to do it now.

As she pulled her loose curly hair into a green scrunchy Lucy cast a dissaproving eye over her sister's boyish tastes in clothes.

"Hey Lilly, why don't you wear Mum's necklace today?"
She suggested, trying to think of a way to spruce up Lilly's apperance so she too made a best impression.
The necklace was one of the items which had been bequithed to the twins. There were other assets aswell but they weren't allowed to access any of them until they were both eighteen.

Lily giggled slightly seeing her sister in wet pjs. She thought she looked very cute like that and it made her feel like the big sister.Lily didn't even wear pjs infact alot of the time she slept naked. Lily didnt care about being seen naked in front of her sister but could be a bit shy around others aspeicaly people who looked older than her as it pointed out how young she looked.

Lily sighed in annoyance as her sister pulled everything out and started making such a effort. Lily didn't thinks eh should be trying to impress them but she also thought she would impress them any way without dressing up her sister was always the more appealing of the two.

She rolled her eyes and said "Mum's neckless is for special ocaions not for trying to impress people trying to replace her and dad and who will do a very bad job of it"She said blutly and headed down stairs hopping to get them both a little food.

Breakfast was all most done but she managed to sneek up a plate of toast for them. She ate a bit and handed her some and just sat on the bed and sighed. "Why do you bother with all that make up gunk one you shouldnt need to put that on to impress them and two I always thought you looked better without it anyway."She said. Lily tended to complament her sister a lot as she did care for her.

"They arn't replacing Mum and Dad!" Lucy cried out in frustration, wishing she could get through to her sister and get her to see things her way but unfortatly she found herslef speaking to a closed door, Lilly had just left to get breakfast.
Lucy just sighed and decided finish brushing out her hair then apply some make up. She knew Lilly would probaby bring something up to her if there was any food left.

"Thank you." she said apprechaitivly when Lilly offered her some toast, it was pretty cold by now but it was better than nothing, she needed something in her stomach to occupy all the butterflies.

"It's not just for them." Lucy answered a little exasperated as she shadowed her eyes, though pleased at the compliment, "It makes me feel good too you know."
Despite being quite pretty Lucy never really saw it in herself and wearing make up and nice clothes made her feel more confident about herself.

"And don't call it gunk." she added warningly. It upset her slightly because really she kind of accepted it was just gunk and junk, it wasn't like anyone ever bought her really nice make up or that she could afford it herself. Just bought cheap stuff from the local market when they were allowed to go there.
She longed for the day she could wear beautiful smelling perfume like the ones that were advertised everywhere.

When she was finished she scowled at herself in the mirror, feeling like she just looked cheap or was trying to hard in light of her sisters comment.
"Do I look okay?" she asked, feeling unsure of herself.

Lily rolled her eyes. She knew her sister was rather self counoush in her looks as all teenage girls were but Lucy was exstremly so. Lily took her hand and tugged her over to the mirror and stood side by side.

"Fuck ugly"She said and gestured to herself "and gorgouse girl who really needs to open her eyes and look at her self for once"She said pointing at her sister. "You look just like mum and if you say anything about not looking good I will slap you for saying my mother is ugly."She joked and kissed her cheek. Lily wasn't affectionet with anyone apart from her sister.

Lily then herd the car pull up infront of the building and sighed. "We need to go"She siad and took her hand and one of the bags while her sister took the other and they headed down stairs. Theys at down in Molly's office to wait for them.

Jack got out the car holdin his wifes hand and smiled. "Relax dear"He said.He rang the bell and Molly opened the door.

"Oh hello hello how are you two it's been so long? The girls are just in here they are excited to meet you"Molly half lied leading them into her office.

When Lily saw the couple she tensed as she always did when she sees a new foster family. She moved closer to her sister protectively.

"Well that's a catch 22, hardly fair." Lucy remarked giving her sister a look, but it did the trick, she didn't feel so worried about herself, their mother had been a beautiful as an angel in both of their eyes.

When the foster parents arrived there was a reversal of roles. Lily always got shy around adults, which Lucy always thought was strange since Lily was the generally the tougher of the pair.
Feeling her sister hugging close like a little kid, Lucy realised she had to step foreward.

"It's nice to see you again Mr and Mrs Pond."
She felt nerveous and akward, holding her sister's hand firmly with her own. They wouldn't suddenly have second thoughts would they? After all, the twin sisters had already been through quite a few foster homes unsucessfully without adoption.

Violet wanted to coo and hug the cute pair of twins. Pretty Lucy looked like she had tried to make an effort and trying to be brave and welcoming. Where as Lilly looked indifferent, dressing like she didn't care but Violet knew from dealing with previous foster children that this was all just a mask the girl was crying out for care deep inside.
Well they would both get it soon enough.

"Hello Lucy, Hello Lilly. You look all ready to go. Do you want to come with me and we'll put your bags in the car while Jack takes care of some things with your socail worker?"

Lily stood up with her sister. She didn't say anything to them. She watched closely as her sister shoke their hands. Lily was just giving them a tens stair. It wasn't quite a galre it was more a a warning look.

"Hello girl's I'm Jack it's lovely to meet you"He said and smiled down at the two girls. They both looked very young. Right away he could tell how he was going to have to handle these to. Lucy seemed just craving for a family so she would be given the love she wanted Lily on the other hand needed to be shown how to relax.

Lily nodded and picked up both of the bags wanting to show her sthrngh as yet another sutel warning to them even though she did stumble a bit with both bags. They had a pretty nice four weel drive car. It was black and a perfect size for them all. Lily flung the bags in the back. She got into the car as instuted.

"Jack please work your magic on these girls your there last hope they are sweet girls they just need time to get familyar with you"Molly said as she singed the alst of the paper.

"We will do our best"He said and headed into the car and sat in the drivers seat. "Everyone buckled in?" He asked.

Lily just nodded. She always made sur eto be bukeled in after the car crash that killed there parents.

Lucy could lift her own bag but sometimes it just was't worth the fight, Lily was always stubborn in her ways and taking the bags was one of them, a dominace thing Lucy had alway supposed. In any case at least it was something she didn't have to do for herself, so without a word she let her twin just get on with her thing and climbed obediantly in to the large car.
Large was certainly the word, one of those big four wheel drive things, Lucy felt small as she buckled herself into one of the back seats. Thankfully she had Lily to provide some context, meaning she wasn't the only one. Bothe twins had always been short for their age.

"You okay?" Lucy whispered discreetly, reaching and hand across and pressing it over Lily's nearest. She could see Lily had that slighty nevervous worried look, the one she always tried to hide but Lucy knew it well, she could guess what was on her sister's mind, and rubbed the back of Lily's hand gently with her thumb.

"Have you girl's eaten?" Violet asked them, leaning around the front passenger seat the talk to them. "We could stop somewhere along the road if you don't want to wait till we get home. What do you think Jack?"
