Lily nodded shyly but was glad of her sister comfort. She smiled softly at her and held her hand shyly smiling. "I'm ok"She said quietly.
She nodded. "I'm fine"She said just wanting to get to the new place soon.
"We can just head right home the girls look tiered." He said but mostly meant Lily. Lily loved being a twin but hated it when they weren't seen as two people.
Lily was very tiered but as they drove it was clear she was fighting sleep as she didn't want any one seeing her suck her thumb.

"Well, yes maybe that would be best." Violet answered slowly after revaluating the twins. Lucy still looked fresh and alert, kind of cutely taking an interest in all the little details of the car's interior, probably just getting her bearings and trying to feel comfortable in her new surroundings. Lily on the over hand did actually look quite tired as her husband had noticed, their were crows feet under eyes. Violet worried about that, it was only midday after all and unusal time for a child (except a very young one of course) to be getting tired, she would have to ask the girls about it when they trusted her enough to let her in. She was concerned Lily might have a low metablism, one of those girls who was prone to fainting, the poor silly thing had probably over exherted herself trying to carry both those bags herself. Violet would be sure to put her foot down next time and make sure Lily didn't try to reach for things that were beyond her, sometimes a child needed to know their limits, even if that child was now 15 years old.
Lucy wasn't feeling tired, she would never have been able to sleep anyway, she felt neverous excitment tickling her all over and as she watched the world roll by through the window she wondered what kind of place this new foster family might bring them too, leaving the orphanage was usually the scariest but also the most exciting part of the adventure. At least in Lucy's mind it was. Things always seemed to go down hill after the first day, when neither of the twins could settle in with their foster family for one reason or anything, that was always tough and disappointing. She hoped it would work out this time.

Jack smiled and after two hours said. "Welcome home girls"He said and pulled into a long path with trees at both sides. Once they were past the trees the girls could see a big old farm house. It had been redecorated and looked very warm. It was wooden but had instulating. It looked very homly. They could also see the huge barn in the back, the chiken coops, there was a huge tree swing and a play area whih was pretty big to. There was a path into the forest as well which led to the lake.
This woke Lily up a little bit. Her eyes widned and she had never seen anywhere this big. She looked adorabel with her face and hands pressed agent the window.

'Gosh.' Lucy thought with plesant surpprise as they pulled up to the house, slightly disbelieveing this could be the house and that they would continue down a lane behind it to some much smaller cottage or something but the car stopped here, this really was it.
Lucy's face was practically glued against the window, she was terribly excited,
'they were rich! We will be able to have so many nice things, clothes and perfume and roast dinners!'
She checked herself, realising how seflish her thoughts were.
'They probably weren't that rich, not all people with a nice house were, some were just lucky. Or maybe they were farmers?'
The barn was pretty hard to miss. The twins had stayed with farmers before and that had been hard work. Lucy felt Lily probably kind of liked all that physical stuff, even though she would never admit it but she hadn't enjoyed all the chores, they required early mornings.
In the end the farmers had thought Lucy was just lazy and that was one of the times she blamed herself for having been given up on and sent back to the orphanage.
The more she looked around the more she concluded they probably weren't farmers. There weren't animals or machinary or stinky slurry pits, just some chickens and she felt she coulf live with those.
Regardless of whatever Violet and Jack did for a living Luc had decided she liked the house. It remembered her of one described in a book she had read, there might be all sorts of hidden secret rooms and treasures. She couldn't wait to go exploring, if she could convince Lily to go with her that was.
"Lily, Lucy, this is our home. I hope you like it." Lucy said warmly and turned around to smile at them both once Jack hand stopped the car.
"You two can have a look around if you like? We'll take your things up to your room for you. Just don't wonder off too far."
Lucy felt a little twinge of dissapointment. This place was huge and she still didn't get her own room? Oh well their were plenty of plus sides.
"Do you want to go check out the swing?" She asked Lily hopefully, her childish playful side shining through all her enthusiam.

She got out the car and quickly picked up there bags and said "It's fine I've got them"

Violet raised her eyes to heaven before she stepped out of the car, Lily was trying to take both of the bags again.
"Lily, darling please, let Jack take one of those for you." Her voice was firm but suggestive rather than demanding. She would have liked to have suggested Lily go with her sister to play on the swing, seeing how put out the young teen with no bags looked as she climbed out from her side of the car, but violet knew it was best to take a gentle approach and comprimise. If Lily have up even one bag it was better than her trying to carry both up the stairs.
Lucy felt dissapointed, it was like being picked last for a sports team, her sister had picked her stupid pride over having fun with her. She tried not to be openly annoyed and kept her mouth shut, not wanting to start an arguement and a scene before they had even got through the door but between the crossed arms and sulky slow gain walk as Lucy followed her sister, Violet obviously saw how she was feeling.
"Lucy, your still welcome to go see the swing if you want to." the new foster mother told her kindly.
"No thanks. We'd better get unpacked anyway."

[Lucky's? lmao take your time on your posts]
Violet's lips pursed and the furrows of her neat brows fell to their lowest point like tired shoulders, she cast a begging glance at her husband looking for some support.
Lucy felt herself growing hot in the face, this was ridiculous.
"Lil, let me have my bag." She said flatly, holding out her hand to take the luggage. Lilly surely couldn't deny her the right to carry her own things.
She didn't say thank you whenever Lily finally handed it over, she just walked briskly on over to the front door, handling it as best she could with her skinny arms.
It didn't really cut any of the tention, or that horrible feeling she had in her gut that things were already starting to go wrong, but hopefully it had resolved the situation for now.
When the door was unlocked and the girls were let in it entered into a wide hallway, dominated by a tall stairs. It looked pretty clean and the sparse but well placed decorations and coat rack by the door made the place feel homely.
"Are we upstairs?" Lucy asked briefly and to the point.
Violet nodded, "Yes and your on the second right." she decided to simply let the girls get on with it and find their own way, stepped aside and off the hall to boil the kettle in the kitchen. It might be best to let the girls have a bit of space for minitue. She gently guided her husband away with her by placing a hand on his fore arm and quitely annoucing,
"Would you like a cup of tea dear?" as if it was the most natural expression in the world. At least it was certainly more subtle than, 'I think we had better make ourselves scarce for a minite Jack. The girls are already getting fussy.' which is what she really meant by it.
Women were clever like that, espcailly ones who had had the chance to mother more than one brood under their belt through fostering scemes.
Lucy hoisted her bag, carrying it with both hands up the stair way desperate not to bang the slender matchsticks which seemed to be standing in for actual banisters.
She made it to the top, but the bottom edge of the bag had bounced off her shins repeatively, leaving a pink mark and later on there would probably be a bruise since she was wearing a dress rather than trousers today.

(whoops sorry lol)
Lily sighed and gave her the bag. When she stromed up stairs Lily looked confused and shocked. What did I so why is she made at me?! she thought.
She headed up stairs after her and dumpped her bag on oe n fo the twin beds. The room was purpel with a white border. There was two cubereds one each, two desks, a bed side table in the middle which had a music box on it ( the hypnosis tapes play in that) .
"Sis what's wrong?" She asked confused.
Jack nodded to his wife and sat in the kicten. "There both very cute but Lily needs to relax and lucy needs some love" He said. "So with the tapes should we just give them both relazxaion step one?" He asked. Step one of relasxation wouldn't make them happyer but would make them more comfortble talking to them and listening to suggestions and not being so distant.

Lucy thought the room looked nice enough, setting her bag at the foot of the bed and unpacking things on to the duvet, she found it easier to organise when she had everything spread out in front of her.
It was kind of weird the way they had an identical wardobe and bed each, kind of a visual reminder they were twins and so often seen as two of a pair rather than indivuals. She gave the Pond's the benefit of the doubt though, most likely the foster parents were just playing it safe since they didn't know either of the girl's personal tastes.
Besides it beat having to share clothing space. Not that Lucy would ever really wish to wear any of Lily's boyish clothes but she liked the idea of having a place for her things and hers alone. She liked even more the fact that there was plently of space left over in the wardobe, maybe Mrs Pond would let her get soe more outfits?
When Lily asked what was wrong Lucy pretended to ignore it, she really didn't want an argument and an argument was what she felt tingling beneath her skin.
Instead she noticed the music box and went over th pick it up.
"Look at this Lil. Kind of cute huh? Do you think it works?"
She teased the lid gently open expecting soothing lyrical notes to escape. Sadly it was silent but a finely cast and beatuifully delicate porciline ballerina twirled on a spring as the key which tightened it turned on the side.
Lucy sighed longingly and closed the lid, setting it back carefully in it's place. She didn't want to break it incase it was of sentimental value.
She hadn't turned it over the find the casette player and speaker hidden in the bottom, she just assumed it was clockwork type and the chime mechanism was worn out.
...
Violet finished pouring tea and brought a cup over to the table where her husband was sitting. She took a seat herself and let her own warm ceramic mug heat her hands but she didn't drink, things didn't seem to be going so well.
"Well the social worker did warn us they were going to be a hard case." Violet answered nonchalently, she was upset inside though, she had wanted the girls to feel happy moving to a new place.
"Yes we should start with step one tonight. Lily seems very stubborn though, she might just turn it off whenever we leave, maybe we should put it on when they are both fast asleep?" she suggested.
