Troubled Twins (private)

Jack sat down smiling. He noticed that the girls seems a little short for the chairs they had because the chairs were very old well bult and rather high and the girls were very small for their age.

Lily shoke her head She hated gravy Lily didn't like much meat but wasn't a vesaterian as she loved chicken and she loved fish. Lily dug in without having to be told twice. She never said no to a good meal. She did how ever fill up quickly and did leave some food on her plate because of her small form never really ate much in one sitting.

Jack held back a chukel as the little girl dug in. He smiled and said "Your eyes bigger than your belly huh kidoo?"

At this Lily blushed a bit and just looked away shyly. She really wasnt used to that kind of affetion

Lucy loved potatoes in all of their forms but roasted potatoes were probably her favourite with their crispy fatty skins and then soft insides which melted in your mouth. She savioured her meal, they never got cooking this good in the orphanage. Not that the cooks who worked their were bad at their job, it's just they had a lot of mouths to feed and limited budget to do it with. Lucy had decided long ago that if she ever became wealthy enough that she could afford to make a difference with her money, it would be going to childrens homes and orphanages.

As she ate, Lucy's legs began to kick and swing as they dangled from the tall chair in a fidgety way. She was starting to need the toilet again now but didn't want to excuse herself.

Across the table Violet kept glanceing across at them both, she ate in a very neat sort of way, cutting everything up and chewing carefully, but she seemed more conserned with what was going on on the twin's plates, anxious to know if they needed anything extra like mustard or salt pepper, which she had asked about at least twice now. She was obviously desperate to please, and this just kept Lucy more determined to stay in her chair and finish the meal. She shot a descreet but meaning glance that wondered between Lily and the peas on Lily's plate, warning that her twin that she should eat them all or their host might get upset.

Lily hated peas she ate basicaly anything but when she didnt like somthing she didn't like somthing. Lily just rolled her eyes at her sister then wondered why she was figeting so much but soon figered out she needed to pee. She must have not been able to find the bathroom she thought.

Jack noticed the girl rigggeling and asked "Lucy you alright would you like a pilow or somthing these seats cn be auful hard?"

"Huh?" Lucy responded with confusion at what to her seemed like an odd thing to bring up but then she realised Jack had noticed her fidgeting. The trouble was he hadn't quite worked out why and she felt too embrassed to ask because then you would now she was fidgeting because she needed the bathroom like a young child would. She instantly regretted not having asked for directions earlier when he had spoken to her on the stairs.

"No thank you." she said in a lower voice, feeling that everyone's eyes must be on her now.

"I've finished. Can I be excused please?" she asked, wanting to get away, to her disapointment she had unintentionally left even more peas than Lily had, which had this not been the twins' first evening here the Ponds would have noticed was odd behaviour.
Instead Mrs Pond simply looked abit supprised, though not offended in anyway and responded,
"Of course you can, but don't you want to stay for some icecream?"

"No thanks." Lucy answered and got down from the tall chair, glad to feel something at her feet again and headed upstairs to the bedroom. She planned to lie down and try to hold on until she could catch Jack or Violet on their own after they had all finished and ask were the bathroom was then. Hopefully she could make it seem less obvious she was desperate and then she wouldn't have anything reason to feel embrassed about it?

Violet watched the honey haired girl leave, just incase she changed her mind and then turned her full attention to a deserving Lily.

"What about you Lily, can I get you some icecream? What flavour do you like?"

Jack watched the girl cureously as she walked away. He had a bit of an idea why she was figeting but they always made sure not to tell kids to go to the bathroom when they first come to live with them and he wnated her to confess that she did need the toilet because after all it was nothing to be embarssed about.

Lily bite her lip a little. She didn't like sitting here infront of them without her sister and she was relaly full but she had a sweet tooth and loved ice cream so she quietly said "Chcoclate"

Violet's interested smile became a little brighter as Lily responded, she felt like maybe she was starting to get through.
"That's my favourite too." she told the girl in a friendly, slightly excitment tinged tone which made her seem younger for a moment.

"Jack do you want some aswell?" she asked after have moved all the dirty dishes away to the sideboard to be washed in a couple of minitues, before walking over to the freezer and pausing with her slender hand resting on the crome handle.

Lily just bit her lip and didn't say anything. She never knew how to react when someone she was trying to hate did seem nice.

Jack shoke his head and got up."No I'm fine dear"He said and headded upstairs he decieded he didn't want the girl to sit upstairs suffering so whent up to her room. "Hay kiddo you ok I thought I should maybe show you around a bit more."He said smiling

Violet looked at Lily and have an exaggerated shrug for her benefit, as if to say, "what's up with him?" hoping it might make her smile. She seemed alarming shy (when she was defensive that is) but that wasn't uncommon in foster children.

"Looks like it's just the two of us then." she declared as she opened the freezer and brought out the chocolate icecream, which she set on the counter top before stooping down the cuboard beneath to find bowels but she hesitanted, an idea crossing her mind.

"Hey Lily, do you like Icecream milkshakes? We could share one." she asked brightly. She hadn't shared a milkshake since she had been a teenager in the late 70's. It seemed like a fun idea to her.

Upstairs Lucy had been planing to lay on the bed listening to her CD player until she felt it was safe to go down again. She was in the process of rifleing through her things to find it when Jack showed up.

"Don't you knock!" she asked him hotly, frustrated from the desperation she was feeling in her bladder and annoyed he had followed her putting a spanner to her plans. She instantly felt bad for it though, after all this was his house and not hers.

His suggestion offered her a dignified solution but she was canny enough to realise it was hint and that he had finally worked out her problem. There was no point in pretending any more, espcailly if it meant they toured several other rooms before finding the bathroom and prolonging her suffering for the sake of a ruse. Jack was clearly a bit cleverer that she had given him credit for and she decided to own up.

"I need to go the bathroom." she admited sulkily, it was still pretty embrassing to have to say that, but probably only because she had built it up to be.

Lily held in a smile at her shuge. She wasn't going to let herself like these people bucause what they were going out to do in her eyes was evil . She didn't want anyone replacing her family.

"Um ok"She said. She loved milkshakes.Lily was swinging her legs but not because she needed the toilet it was just a habbit she had when she was sitting on high chairs.

Jack frowned a bit at her hostality but didnt say anything about it. When she said she needed the bathroom he smiled but actted like he didn't already know. "Alright hun the bathroom is the last door at the end of the hall. "He said and pointed it out to her

'The last door?' Lucy realised she might have wasted ten miniutes if she had tried searching herself, since she would have naturally started at the closet door and worked her way down. Now armed with the most powerful weapon of all, information, she hurried out of the bedroom hopping on her feet in desperation and ran for the bathroom.

"Thank you." she called back before shutting the door behind her and working down her jeans which seemed to have become ten times as tight.

Violet's enthusiam was a little dented by Lily's lackluster, and she fretted that maybe their was something bothering the teenager besides the obvious. She knew it would do little good to ask though, at least noy until the hypnosis tapes had started to take effect.

She whirled up the milkshake in a blender and then poured it in a tall glass which she brought over to the table for them to share, popping two straws into the thick surpey liquid.
She sat down close to Lily and invited herself to the first sip before passing it over to Lily.

"Mmmm." she hummed, it was nice.

"So Lily what do you think about going back to school?" she asked in a conversational tone, despite it being actually quite a serious topic. "There is quite a good secondary school in the nearest town but if you didn't feel up to that then maybe myself and Jack might be able to give you and Lucy a bit of home schooling or get a tutour in? What kind of schooling did you get at your last home?"
