The Viscount's Dog (Private RP)

This is a private rp for Rye and me. <3 Unfolding here will be the misadventures of a spoiled, cursed Viscount and the youkai Lord Sesshomaru.

************************************************** **

Feudal times. They didn't suit him-- They didn't suit him at all! Japan was an uncivil wastelands compared to the gilded palaces of his time. He longed for sugared fruits and lavish parties. He longed for cherry cordials and strong smelling hair perfumes! He longed for high-heeled boot stores that sold that and nothing but! Instead, he was knee-deep in creek water; muddy from the soles of his feet to the delicately tied satin ribbons of his knee breeches. Not only was he out of style for the place-- but he had utterly ruined his inappropriate hiking gear and gold tied boots. Grumbling, the boy persisted through mosquito bites, sun burn, and all other unpleasant varieties of outdoor exposures. He hadn't slept in days, he hadn't eaten since noon the prior day... and the mushrooms he had pouched up would probably give him half a dozen heart attacks if he ate them as he had planned. Grumbling, he continued to press on after a particular demon aura he'd picked up. "Damned demons... constantly moving around... never in one place," he hissed through clenched teeth. The question for now was, how long would Sesshomaru remain indifferent or unaware of his pesky little follower? He wasn't exactly hard to spot wearing expensive navy-blue material and satin ribbons; donning polished nails, clear blue eyes, and golden hair...

Lord of the Western lands Sesshomaru was easily strolling through the forests of Omi. He had sent his imp servant ahead to scout for anything of any use to him. The demon lord's ear twitched with the sound of scrunching leaves "you know it's very irritating to have someone follow you , and the noise you make is very distracting. But do as you please, I have no quarrel with anyone in these parts" he said to the thicket , more or less aimed at the one individual following him. The demon lord had been wandering for some time but he didn't mind; the spring warmth was calm and a light breeze was flowing through the emerald leaves. The demon soon reached a clearing ,surrounded by calm pink cherry blossoms and in the centre a large stone temple with many stairs leading to the top. Sesshomaru leaped up in one swift moment and made it to the top. He then ducked inside and sat himself down on the stone alter and tried to concentrate , he had to find a Shikon jewel shard soon as this arm was starting to rot away "damm that Inuyasha and his recess blade wielding" he cursed as he tried to calm himself, at least he could rest a bit in here until he would have to move again. He tried concentrating again to pinpoint the location of a certain demon he was tracking, if he killed this one he may have a replacement for his lost arm for a few weeks.

It was infuriating, really; to assume you'd tracked a powerful being that far with great stealth only to find that the dog had known about his presence the entire while. Nym couldn't have smelled the best. His powerful phobia of water made bathing in rivers non-existent.. His dislike of cold things made stream-baths impossible... and his exposure to the outdoor elements... He was not a happy boy. He was so used to royal servants pampering and picking at him with sponges and fine perfume. Smelling like a common peasant was not a normal thing for him-- nor did he like it. As the dog replied calmly to him, the boy unleashed un unwise noise. It was a comical, throaty growl that was a little too high to be an ominous dog-growl... and yet-- it was clearly unkind and challenging. "Rrr... Damnation! If you knew about me five miles back, why the devil didn't you tell me! You would have saved me a great deal of trouble... EUGH! Look at this mud... it's never going to come out..." He lamented, gawking down at his riding boots. Leering up to the spot where the dog demon had been, he flinched as the silvery-white being streaked up to the top of a tall temple. Were he well, perhaps he might have boasted a little inhuman speed of his own. At present, he was too hot... to wet... too tired... to filthy to even try. "Ugh. Running away are you? Damned coward! Come back here! I have things to ask you! Come back, I said!" He shouted, ignorant or foolish to the idea that the dog demon could easily have plucked his head from his shoulder like a summer-ripe cherry. Whether or not Sesshomaru heeded his immature squealing was another matter to contend with. Nym saw no reason for him not to listen. Why was that? Because in Nym's mind... the world revolved around him. Nym was a selfish little pissant, really. He had readied himself to call out angrily to the dog demon once more before he reached the temple gates. Paper wards flagged in the winds along with the exorcism scrolls of monks long gone. The boy swayed lightly, holding his head. "...damn monks," he cursed. Brass... mustard seed... they were both toxic to the boy. The ink used to mark most exorcism wards were thick with mustard seed. The aroma was long dead and gone to most mortals... but to the boy, it was like a searing hot poker to his face. "That smell," he hissed, stumbling momentarily. The last nag he managed was hardly above a mumble. "...Come down from there... ermine..." --Well Ermine were white weasels. He had to guess at the man's roots! (What a terrible guess it was!)

Sesshomaru scowled slightly as he herd his stalkers challenge , but he could not descend to the lowly challenges by mortals. However this one was slightly irritating , no human should have the nerve to even approach him , let alone spy on him. The silver haired demon sighed and emerged from the stone temple. It was near enough imposable to detect anything with this boy making so much of a racket. He looked over the child situated by the foot of the stone steps , he didn't care much for his situation but he was very distracting "you are being irritating" he plainly stated , growing weary of his increasing complaints "I shall go where I please mortal and not where you tell me" he responded , a picture of slight annoyance on his face. As he descended the stairs he noticed the boys clothes , they weren't normal at all. They looked like the clothes that girl wore , the worn that ran about collecting the jewel shards.

"Why are you following me? Why to you attempt to taunt me into battle. If you wish to die then I would be happy to oblige and silence that talkative tongue" he said staring straight into the boys eyes to see if he could get a idea of what type of character he was. He deduced arrogance and cockiness without power to back it up. Surely this person did not wish to made a choice he will surely regret. Although the child's actions seemed strange "if you're following me , why couldn't you follow me into the temple?" he asked , trying to refrain from insulting him, but it was very hard for him.

The scowl was intimidating enough to work its magic. As the dog turned his great golden eyes down upon the boy, he cringed—visibly so. The little brat didn’t *want* to cringe, but he did none the less. He was not ignorant of the man’s power. It was radiating out of him by scent and feel like a high tide ravaging loose sand. On his heel, the dog—who he still perceived to be an ermine—turned and closed the gap between the pair. The child cringed once again beneath the boy’s eyes. While his clothes were eccentric for the time and place, they were equally as strange from his native land. The boy was entirely too fond of exotic fabrics and laces, satins and silks and all the beautiful things in between. “W- What are you gawking at? D-Don’t just look me over like a glaze-eyed codfish!” He stammered, taking a weary step backwards. Though he tried to glare the dog directly into his eyes as a sign of dominance, the boy wound up averting his eyes—glaring at a random patch of grass beside the great lord of the western lands instead. His boots were also a fine subject to glare at.
“—What do you mean! Where do you get off telling me I’m the annoying one, ermine?! What kind of a gentleman tramps around barbaric country like this—Egh!” he grunted, swatting a mosquito along-side his neck. He wouldn’t have had to kill it though. The moment the little insect took a drink of his toxically sweet blood, its body petrified to a woody substance and fell away from the boy. Bugs may have enjoyed the taste—but one taste was fatal. Cursed blood was nothing to mess around with. “Bugs and fleas and ugly little grubs wriggling around. If there’s leeches anywhere on me, so help me!” he ranted as his eyes glazed with a few frustrated tears. This was no miniature adult—this was a spoiled child. Folding his arms, he shot a poisonous glare toward the dog as he threatened death over the boy. His cheeks flushed an awkward shade of scarlet as he blushed with mild shame. “Tch. Bite your tongue, you fur-bearing trap-liner. I’m not provoking you into battle! I only have questions—that’s all. There is nothing more I want from you—not company! Not that ugly sword,” he hissed, glaring at the man’s sword(s). Pausing, he lifted a brow. “—Aside from that, why would you carry a leather and thread-wrapped sword? Shouldn’t it be gold gilded… you look a little too… I don’t know… Princely to be carrying something so common-looking… It looks old… positively garish,” he mumbled. Was that a compliment or an insult?! It was hard telling.
The question of the temple came next, and as it was spoke, the boy blushed an awkward shade of scarlet. Why couldn’t he follow indeed. “That’s…. Personal,” he quipped, folding his arms stubbornly. “I might as well ask you if that’s armpit hair!” he returned, glaring at the fluffy sash on the man’s shoulder. The kid needed a smack—or a kick. One of the two. If he wasn’t careful, he’d probably wind up with a face full of sword, claw, or who knows what! Pressing his lips together, his constipated sort of pout did not fade—his potent blushing did not stop either. “…So… What do I call you? I didn’t really follow you by name. I just felt such a power… and I followed it,” he mumbled a bit more modestly—a bit more politely. His language was slurred with a foreign accent of some sorts. Perhaps that was why he was so ill behaved? Likely not.

"You" he replied simply "you are a anomaly; different and strange , you'll get a lot of people staring at you if you're dressed like that." the lord explained , staring back wit a unnerving cold stare. This child was certainly a strange one , it was trying to challenge him with such primitive forms of dominance , hoe uncouth of him. Once he forced him to look down he continued to answer him "Ermine? You have no manners boy" he growled at being called something other than his name , it was almost insulting , but a common mistake among humans , that is if they weren't running in fear of him. "Gentleman? I am neither gentile nor a man. I am a demon and I travel my lands in search of things that interest me. It seems very common for the human lords to patrol their territory these days if that's what you mean." he said passively , seeing answering this boy's question was the only way to get him to leave him alone.

Sesshomaru watched as he complained about the bugs ,they always stayed away from him ,as they should. is eyes widened with curiosity as the flea simply fell off his skin, seems this kid had something interesting up his sleeve, enough to entertain him with answers at least. "If you don't want to fight then why address me so casually, I do not know where you come from but here it is a insult to me and my bloodline" he explained , his tone become slightly hot with anger but he remained composed and calm. "Gold is such a useless metal , flaky and weak , a sword made out of it would snap like a twig. The only thing gold can be used for is blinding greedy fools" he said looking off into the forest looks meant nothing to him , his power was all he needed "it is indeed old , but worthless. I carry it out of respect" he said ignoring his statement about his fur pelt around his arm for now.

"I am Sesshomaru, lord of the western lands. What or who are you, you must have some title in order to build upon your scale of arrogance" he lashed back with scornful words "I appreciate the complement but first I ought to teach you how we deal with rude impotent youths" he said using his fur to latch onto him and hurl him onto the stone stairs of the temple , shattering a few stairs with the impact. "if you insist on verbal attacks then I will use punishments more appropriate to your age" he called over to him , not happy with damaging such a old and sacred place. He was going to walk off but something told him he better deal with him now or he'll continue to follow him, although he better have a better tone or he'll just fling him around the place some more.

Strange. Different. They were both biting words-- words that forced his lips to pull into a very weary sort of expression. His eyes too expressed a quiet sort of agony he was too proud to speak of. Bowing his voice to a gentle lull, he folded his arms and glanced side-long to the dog. "It doesn't matter what sort of clothes I wear. Look at me. There isn't anywhere I can go," he mumbled. He hadn't meant to sound pitiable... Really, he wanted to think of himself as an adult: self sufficient! "...this body..." he mumbled with a quiet loathing. "...this body.... betrays me in every way imaginable..." The dog demon's cold stare was lost to the boy-- he may as well have been glaring inwardly at himself. As arrogant as the child was, he was just as vulnerable and just as self-defeating.
The only thing that re-flagged his attention was when the dog demon mentioned being neither gentle nor a man. The boy frowned before lifting a brow in genuine confusion. "...I beg your pardon... but you most certainly are not a common man-- and you are certainly not a woman!" he proclaimed-- actually defending something of the dog's character. "--You don't rub me as a cur and you speak like an educated person. I will not call you slut or an urchin," he spat-- clearly confused by what Sesshomaru meant. It was odd-- as insulting as he was, he did pay some formal amount of respect to people; particularly if he deemed them visually appealing. Sesshomaru was not unattractive. He was different-- but he was clean and polished. That mattered to Nym. Blushing awkwardly, he looked away from the boy. "--and I will not call you sir as you are not a tutor. Clearly you are not a tutor. No. Certainly not," he stammered. He didn't even want to imagine getting reamed out by this man for failure to complete assignments or cheeking off. That would have been... nightmarish!
Yet another confusing point confronted the boy. The creature was not an ermine. "...but...you have white....fur..." He mumbled as though he could not comprehend that the man was *not* an ermine. Without knowing it, he also mumbled, "...and ermines are so cute when they play...I kind of hoped...." Soon enough he realized what he was mumbling and blushed. "Dgh-- If you are not an Ermine, then what the blazes are you? --Not a Kitsune. Clearly not a Kitsne.... Wolf? --no... shouldn't those face markings be red in that case?" He frowned and then offered the dog demon a hopeless expression of frustration --frustration that stemmed from a lack of understanding. "...I don't get it... Moreover, how can I possibly be addressing you casually if I don't even know your name and rank. If you were so vastly important, wouldn't you have given me that information upon announcing yourself? Tch! You really should if you expect people to stay the recommended ten paces away... and that would be the case for a king and I doubt very much you are the king of... wherever this awful place is," he grumbled. Frowning, the undereducated twit wondered aloud: "...do they even have kings here? --I thought it was emperors.... Eh. I hate history anyhow. Who cares," he groaned.
"Eh? --Who would make a gold blade... it goes on the handle... mm... I had a fencing sword-- the handle was gold...I believe I've lost it..." --because naughty children did tend to lose valuables EVERYWHERE. It seemed at last he had the dog's name and as he mulled the name over in his head, he came up blank. He was unfamiliar with such a name. "Nn... To ask me what I am is sort of rude... but I'll humour you," he mumbled, flipping a few of his unruly sideburns away from his pale cheek. "...My name is Nym Shylock... Viscount, to be precise. I am the constant companion of Prince Shino-- or rather, I was. I grew tired of..." Shuddering, he scoffed and silenced himself. "--That, I do not wish to speak of... but I am no longer in their services. I am still a viscount just the same though," he grunted crossly. He didn't seem to mind being called arrogant. He was aware of the flaw-- and yet-- he did little to nothing to change such a sour fact. As the Dog growled that he would teach him a lesson, the boy Cringed and took a step backwards. "Wh- What?" Rather than flee, his hands instinctively shifted to cover his backside uselessly. Sesshomaru had nothing of the sort in mind! In a snowy-white blur, the fluffy sash snapped around his frame and lurched him off his feet. "UWAA--" he choked before he was sent careening into the stone steps of the temple. Perhaps he might have caught himself on his feet were he not exhausted... a little ailing... and surrounded by mustard seed and old wards. Instead, he caught the steps with his ribs and hip, cracking his head down against one of them as well. The fish-like gasp he let announced his lung had been punctured. This alone should have been fatal, and yet... the cursed blood within him would not see him die so easily. "Gkh!" He sputtered, grasping his ribs roughly. "W..hy?" he wheezed. "--why the hell...." He choked again. Such terrible language for a child. "...I didn't attack you-- god...damned... honorless..." H-Honorless? It wasn't wise to insult a man's code... but then again, Sesshomaru was a demon. "--even for a demon... that was low," he hissed, his voice slowly strengthening. Frowning, he pushed weakly against the temple step to try and pick himself up from the floor. Frustration was mounting as he failed several times. Only then did a flood of tears greet his clear, blue eyes. Though they did not spill down his cheeks, it was clear the boy was quite...upset. "I wanted..... I only wanted..." Pressing his lips together, he cringed.

Sesshomaru watched his sadness unfold and felt sympathy. He hated feeling like this , it was his father's fault he felt compassion for humans. He could never understand it but he knew the feeling. After he had thrown him to the stairs he answered the rest of his questions , just because it was polite to do so "you said I was a gentleman, I'm not gentile or a man. I am a daiyokai , a powerful demon" he explained wearily "yes I have white fur but it's just a pelt. I am a dog demon, my markings are a sign of my heritage" he said taking note of what he had mumbled but didn't follow it up. He had to think a little about kings , the word was unfamiliar to him "you must mean the human lords , we don't have a emperor , stability seems to have settled even if we don't have one though. "Why? You disrespect me. Yes you didn't attack me , you don't have to. Low? There is no high or low , just who is disgraced in defeat and those who succeed" e was about to walk off but the child's upset nature was making him feel that annoying feeling again, that irritating compassion for humans "follow me if you want some help. We will rest in a clan castle not far from here, you can tend to your clothes and emotions there if you want" he said leading the way, this seemed to be the only way to get rid of that feeling.

The boy was in several worlds of pain. His body had never been designed for such rough play. While his mother had been a vila, his father had been a human. By definition, he was either a hanyou—or half Faerie, depending on how the lands would consider wicked faeries. His aroma would naturally have been a mix of swan and human… but given his cursed blood, the smell of savage horses was all about him. Truly, this smell was purely demonic. His despair also created an odd aura and scent—likely one of a mononoke—or perhaps a Harlequin (Arlecchino). Wickedness was all about the boy, and yet… there was something redeemable about him; something soft and touchable. “Ksss…” He hissed through clenched cheeks as he held his ribs. “A gentleman, as I said,” he sputtered pausing to groan as he attempted to move. His hip was badly bruised—the stone had crumbled as he had impacted, leaving the sharp, exposed edges of stone to dig into his soft skin. “Is not relevant to being gentle… It is—AAH!” He shouted as he felt a hot streak of blood leaving his hip. “It hurts!!” He shouted unconsciously. Ah, demons. Sometimes it was so easy to play rough—without thinking about the aftermath. Though the boy was too proud to burst into tears, he hunched forward and drew his knees toward his forehead. This did little to relieve the pain—it was simply an instinctive action.
For a long while he stayed that way, tuning out the demon’s sage advice about highs, lows, demons, and humans. “Uuh… Why would you do something like that?” he shouted into his knees. His voice was quivering indicating that he was indeed crying; though not out loud. “—What is wrong with you? I don’t care if you’re a demon! That… That was… indecent… --uh, it hurts so bad…” What a childish, but obvious, thing to point out. Of course it was indecent. Demons did indecent things! He couldn’t have expected a thank you note for all of his rude behaviour! In part, the brat deserved what he’d gotten—though perhaps not in such extremes. He might have remained at a consistent level of distress were it not for the demon’s regret. He was used to abuse. He was used to the rough and rude sort of “play” he had used on Sesshomaru—and the play the man had used in turn on him. He was accustomed to the sadistic joy in dealing pain and the masochistic glee of reflecting on received pain… but he didn’t know what to do with pity. He, in his own mind and perhaps realistically, was not a creature to be pitied. He was a filthy half-breed—a creature borne of an affair that should have never been given life. Melodramatic? Indeed. Nym was a good example of why *not* to give eternal torment and life to a teenager. Instructed to follow, the boy shrank into his knees once more. His ribs settled as he did so with an unpleasant pop. “…shut up… shut up… shut up!” For a while, he let the words soak into himself—the air… He didn’t know what else to say. As he shivered, repressing the wet sniffles and shudders of sobbing into his knees, a crow landed atop the old temple and began ka-kawing at the pair angrily. Two devils did not belong at such a place!
Finally, the boy lifted his head form his knees—but only a little. His eyes were red and puffy from his tears—his face was a wreck. He wasn’t so pretty in such a childishly dishevelled state. “—I don’t want your pity. I didn’t ask for it…” In a lower, quieter tone, he quivered: “…I do not deserve pity from anyone.” Guilty was a powerful, evil tool—the driving force behind the wretch. “…I cannot follow you… The wards… Ngh… my ribs are broken…and…” He didn’t mention the cut at his hip—he hadn’t time. An awkward flush drifted over his tear-flushed face as his eyes practically rolled back into his head. “Eeh!” The shriek was punctuated by the aroma of urine and the quiet dribbling sound of the pungent wetness soaking into his underclothes. The leather did little to comfort the child as it refused to allow the puddle to seep through the groin of his pants. Instead, it twisted down his skinny legs, positively ruining his boots. For the extent of the embarrassing accident, the boy remained still and silent. His shuddered breathing soon began as he resumed his balled position, sobbing without screeching or producing terrible amounts of noise. “…don’t… I…”

The noble ignored his pain. Although he didn't know anything about Nym he detested half breads , they were neither one species or another , but he had learnt to be tolerant of them , perhaps even disregard their mixed breeding heritage completely. Nym's screaming for on his nerves though "please be silent child and I will clean you up once we get somewhere safe" he said cringing at the shrike , piercing his ears like broken glass shoved into his ears .That feeling was back , the one that he feels whenever humans are involved "stop!" he said his voice turning to anger as he rushed back up to the temple as the crow landed up high "we should go now. I may be powerful but even I must bow to the gods and we may have angered them by damaging such a place" he said cupping his hands and muttering a prayer to the gods in the hope they would be merciful.

The gold like being looked down onto Nym , he liked his in this scorned state , it took away the glitter and fantasy from his face and showed his true beauty , that raw emotion he admired in people , especially the emotionally distraught. "You're right , you don't deserve pity , but one cannot help but feel sorry for one of such arrogance. It's like a toothless wolf that howls at the moon" he said taking note of his condition "you sought me out. I'd rather not stoop to your level and have to carry you" he said , his noble reasoning shining out again.

"Ugh. Can't you control your bodily fluids" he sighed "on your feet child. I will not carry you , not in this state and not because you are injured , you survived my attack so you are strong enough to walk. Now up, before I really get annoyed. I will assist you with that you need" he said getting back up onto his feet and wrenching the boy up onto his feet and handing this sheathed sword "use this to walk, you will get more use out of that scarp of metal than me" he said starting off again , but at a much slowed pace.

He made his way back into the forest and checked to see if the boy was following , that pity and compassion feeling was really getting to him , so much so he was almost willing to drop his noble attitude , just to be rid of it , curse his fathers feelings.
