Regressive hills a oddball place to be sure in name , atleast when in truth its alot more then that. Granted over the years it became a ghost town that has rumors of the only place with people being a motel and people who enter the town for the night never returning and never to be seen again. Thing is the rumors are set when cellphones wasn't a thing and people vanishing for varies reasons was common enough place. It can be chalked up to be ghost stories. But the fact is Hank McCoy of the X-men will soon enough learn better

Beast loved exploring curious phenomena and the mysterious rumors about 'Regression Hills' had certainly perked his curiosity. He'd seen some satellite pictures of the old town and decided to explore it himself. Hank decided to stop at the motel for information and gas... climbing out of his van in just his X-Speedo. It was too warm to drive around in full clothing even if the temperature did drop at night.

Hank entered into the motel and rang the bell on the desk. Hoping they didn't have any issues with a blue furry mutant in just his briefs in their lobby. Hank looked around the lobby while waiting to see if there was anyone around to take car of him. Curious if they had anything about 'Regression Hills' on display or any curious items of interest for sale for those that fell for the tourist trap aspect of the area.

Interestingly aside from a book on 'rumors' about the place and afew other practical items not much in mind for tourists really exist in the motel and gas station combination granted there is afew things here and there .

''What can I do for ya,youngling? Gas? Something to eat on the road? You aren't staying the night are ya?'' Came the voice of a old woman from the employees only door as it opened '' Hold on a minute! Why are you whippersnappers always dying ya hair all unnatural colors?''

Hank turned back from checking the few items for sale as his keen hearing picked up the sound of the old woman opening the door. "Youngling?" Hank chuckles just a bit at being called that. "If only." Hank did have something of a constant struggle with his middle age. But the old woman kind of amused him by calling him that.

"Afternoon, Ma'am." Hank smiled given she asked him about the exact things he needed. "I'm curious about Regression Hills. But I could use a full tank and happy to try the local delicacies." Hank chuckled again at the dyed hair comment. "I'm actually a mutant... it's all natural." Hank leaned forward allowing her to touch it.

''Don't get sassy youngling I am a good 98 years old so ya are still a youngling to me'' The woman clearly has a interesting view of things on viewing a persons age matter. ''Oh now the youngling shows manner? Well its better than most. So good Evening Sonny '' The woman offered

''' If ya stay the night ya'll get more then ya'll ever need '' Of course Hank might take that as meaning easy to get information in the day when its not meaning that. Rather it means the cause of the rumors will have pinged Hank as a new commer and mutant needing cared for and such.

''Mutant? Such a degrading term,back in my day we was called gifted individuals''The woman offered as her retort as she went to Hank and touched his fur assure her mutant ability is slower aging and longevity but she still is a mutant and spry at that

Beast couldn't help but chuckle at the feisty nature of the old woman. It made him feel almost like she was a member of the family... as it certainly put him more at ease. "Well you're very chipper and lovely for your age, Ma'am. I'm Hank...pleasure to meet you. If you have a 'Regression Hills' T-Shirt I'll happily take one of those as well." Hank gestured down at himself. "I'll even put it on now if you prefer."

After all, Hank was running around in what some might mistake as underpants. Especially someone as old as the woman he was talking to. "Really? It didn't look that special from the satellite photos. But the mythology around it is interesting." Hank rumbled softly at the woman petting his fur. "It's just the casual term. A lot of the younger folks use it as taking power back from those using it out of hate."

''I age slowly youngling thats one of my two gifted traits'' The woman offered as way of explanation as she gave Hanks Hank a firm shake atleast firm for a human with regular strength''Pleasures all mine ya youngling '' As for the shirt matter and wearing it she rose a brow '' wouldn't ya get hot youngling with a shirt? Ya's pull-ups should do '' Of course she had to call the X-speedo's pull-ups but it wasn't in jest it was more along the lines of her taking a guess at thats what he was wearing '' or are they underoos?'' The woman questioned given the X-logo on them and all that.


''Mythology? Dear ya'll are rather mystaken its something like those walking trashcans those silly younglings known as X-men fight if I had to guess as you hear machine sounds whenever something happens round these parts ''The woman offered as she got Hank a shirt in his size


''Good for them Youngling ,not that I aprove using such a term but thats just me '' the woman offered guiding Hank to the eatery part of the hotal setting him down '' About whatever ya'd like I can make ''

"Well you look very good for your age Ma'am." Hank offered sincerely as he casually chit chatted with the Motel Owner. "I'll mind my own business on your other ability." Hank after all didn't want to come off as rude to her after all. "Yeah, but it's a dry heat." Hank joked and then blushed just a bit at the comment about his briefs and referring to them as pull-ups. Hank almost didn't have the heart to correct her given how old and innocent she seemed to be. "Pull-ups?" Hank couldn't help but chuckle just a bit.

"Don't worry I won't leave any damp spots anywhere Ma'am." Hank did perk a brow at the suggestion that whatever resided in 'Regression Hills' might be similar to something like the Sentinels. Hank smiled and took the T-shirt and then followed her to the eatery and smiled as she treated her almost motherly. "I'm always fond of a surprise in new places... so why don't you make me your specialty?"

Sadly for Hank the old woman isn't as innocent as she seems as she may not lie but she is leaving out the fact she is working with the things that resides here in 'Regression Hills' on a deal basis to keep her husband and family members aswell as what few other townspeople are here safe from getting taken, well that and she won't deny its nice getting all that cash and items from the victims. Granted the drugging is to ensure the victims sleep at night and get lulled into a sense of safety but Hank likily will search out what resides here anyway

''Oh my you better not or my husband will ensure you learn not to'' The woman offered in a joking manner but then she smiled gently as much as she hates what she is about to do to her food like she tends to in regards to travelers as in drug the food and drink its for the towns own good '' Real mincemeat pie with mash potatoes and gravy with a glass of milk it is then'' the woman said to see if Hank is fine with that

Hank couldn't help but rumble warmly at all of the attention from the sweet old lady. He felt oddly at ease around her... like believing that there was no way she could be a threat. After all she'd only made a mistake about the nature of his briefs. And he certainly did often make things worse for himself given his naive nature.

"I'll be extra careful then... I wouldn't want to make your husband mad. Plus I didn't bring any extra pull-ups with me." Hank joked, deciding to play along with her mistake about his briefs. "That sounds delicious Ma'am thank you." Hank chuckled a bit and flashed her a playful smile. "You sure you trust me with with a glass?"
