Scootaloo meanwhile, was busy doing her chores at the orphanage. She paid little attention to the "guests" that showed up to entertain them there. The most any of them had entertained her is when that magician showed up and her birds started to attack her. So whenever the headmistresses said there would be a guest, Scootaloo ignored it. She had no idea that today's guest was going to be Fluttershy.

A older mare opened the door with an emotionless face and guided Fluttershy to the main room, as she passed the other rooms and hallways she caught a glimpse of a very familiar purpled maned Pegasus, but on second thought it couldn't be she was sure scootaloo had parents . Arriving at the main room she pre pared herself to face her audience by taking some deep breaths and focusing on her performance."alright I'm ready if you want to bring them in , I'm good to go" she said with her stomach full of butterflies.

Scootaloo was still doing her chores. She didn't care for any of these stupid events since they never really mattered or were anything more than a way to say the orphanage was actually trying to help the children. She wasn't there once Fluttershy started her small show. After finishing her chores, she wandered into the room, surprised to see Fluttershy performing. She stood at the door, barely visible to Fluttershy at the current moment.

Waiting for all the little fillies and colts to settle down Fluttershy began to sing, at first it was quite and soft but soon it built up letting the music fuel her courage, soon she was in her own world and her singing became more energetic and cheery not soon after other ponies began to sing along during the chorus. While hitting a high note Fluttershy began to float above the small crowd and as soon as it was over, she looked out and saw scootaloo hiding be hind the doorway and at this site she immediately stopped and began to trot over towards the young filly.

Scootaloo came in on the latter part of the act and watched in amazement. She wasn't completely surprised since Fluttershy had sang her lullabies before when the crusaders occasionally slept over at her cottage. She was surprised again however when Fluttershy dropped the mic and started towards her. She never liked to be the center of attention unless it was Rainbow Dash's attention so she panicked and darted out of the room towards to communal bedroom for fillies her age. She dove under the covers of her bed, but her socks and feet were visible to anypony who walked in.

Running after her she called out "scootaloo what's wrong what are you doing here" entering the bed room Fluttershy saw the young Pegasus hiding under her covers. With a sigh of concern Fluttershy crept up on to the bed and placed a hoof gently on Scootaloo's back and said in a calm and nurturing tone " come on out Scootaloo and tell me why you're here and why you didn't want me to see you "

Scootaloo groaned as she heard Fluttershy's voice. She didn't want to talk to anypony about this. She wasn't all too happy about her situation but Fluttershy definitely would pursue the subject since she cared deeply about her. She started to tear up and crawled out enough to where her head was visible. "I-I-I live here....Nopony wants to adopt me cuz I'm so old compared to most of the other fillies and colts. I-I didn't want anypony to know cuz it's stupid and embarrassing...."

Fluttershy was heartbroken when she saw the little filly who she always saw wearing a smile and full of energy and determination be so down and depressed. Without second thought she pulled Scootaloo in for a warm and loving hug , tearing up herself Fluttershy said in a hushed voice "it's okay Scootaloo, I would love to have a filly your age as a daughter, believe it or not I know how it feels to be unwanted."

Scootaloo felt relieved and comforted by the hug. She wasn't sure why, but it felt genuine. It felt like Fluttershy actually did care for her and wanted to make her feel better. She sniffled softly for a minutes until the yellow mare spoke up once more. She heard Fluttershy say she'd love to have a daughter and it made her heart leap. "Y-you w-want me?" She asked, completely baffled that she was wanted. "L-like adopt me want me?"
