Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion

I am aware that another thread was made for Sun and Moon a couple weeks ago but that was for predictions. This thread is to discuss what's already known and right now we know a couple of things. We know the starters, Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio, we know the region's going to be called Alola, and we were shown the mascot legendaries but weren't given the names on those yet. Everyone is thinking that Owlet is cute and I agree but I am liking Litten better and hope that it's final evolved form is going to be Fire/Dark. I tend to like Dark Pokemon more than any type. As for Alola, we were shown a map and I think it's a bit too small and cramped for a region. Of course, I believe that's just one island of the region because it is based off of Hawaii. Surely there are more to be revealed. Also, IGN must be having a fit somewhere. XD

I am going to get both versions but I like Moon because of its mascot Legendary.

For anyone else on here, what version are you getting and which starter are you planning on choosing?

I love rowlett... but further I was disappointed. The other starters are completely unappealing to me... I like popplio more than litten... and if litten evolved into something ninja related I will probably quit pokemon. Must say I liked the footage. The graphics are cool! And the legends are... acceptable.

I plan on getting Rowlett. I always choose the grass starter the first time around. I'm also going to be going with Sun. No particular reason.

It looks good to me all around, finally feels like we're actually entering a new generation. Still feels a bit like we're leaving Kailos too soon, well maybe it's not over yet but that's only for predictions.

All the starters look good to me, Litten seems like it can make funny edgy stuff in a good way. Popplio seems cute enough, and Rowlet seems interesting, I'm quite curious what all their evolutions will be like, last generation had some of the best for starters (maybe not the leaf
Pokemon as much as the others but still good).

The legendarys look alright, but they kinda seem small compared to all other box legendarys, Mewtwo was the only smallish one to be well known for its generation but even they are not box legendarys.

Now I did read this first but looking again, yeah the trainer we play as seems a bit generic, maybe it's not a final design but they seem kinda simple for the playable trainer, may be the customnzation that affected them or something.

Other then that, the legendaries are cool, I expect more land but the island looks nice, as overall I'm happy with what I see.

I'm not sure which game I'll be getting, but it's gonna be really hard for me to choose between Rowlett and Litten. Although, if the latter ends up being Fire/Fighting I'ma have to fight someone >..<

If I had a 3ds, I would grab Moon (I like the legend better)
Super hyped about it being in Hawaii ( kinda knew Unova because I've been to NY) as I've beem there several times, plus NO SNOW! I swear I have never liked the snowy areas in any Pokémon game (probably because I don't like most Ice Types)
I believe Rowlett is either gonna stay Grass Flying type, or its gonna actually change to Grass Dark, or at least I dream of that, as I actually really liked shiftry.
Litten, I think it will stay pure fire
And Popplio might become part flying or psychic both because its a circus preformer. Flying as an acrobat, or psychic as a magician. We could use some more of that dual typing

We got new Pokemon S&M news out.

We see more of the region and we got the types for the legendarys. While I like the moon legardys typing a little, I'm going to have to question the sun legendary having metagrose' typing. And it's been said but why is it weak to fire?

I like the new character Lille, I think that's her name, and the Rotom dex looks cool but I want to see if it does much more.

So anyone have any other thoughts on Pokemon S&M, I think it looks nice and I'm liking what I'm seeing so far.

I believe that the reason the sun legend isn't part fire is because stars aren't actually on fire. In contrast, stars contain a large amount of metals. So it makes sense to me.

Some people said that there's some alchemical thing about a lion eating the sun meaning purity. Since alchemy mostly worked with turning metals more pure through magic, magic is psychic, and steel is a "pure" metal, but only cause we don't have an iron or diamond type

Well steal is pretty much iron type considering iron tail and all that. Still the sun has no fires, it just feels a bit odd is all. Does it need to be psychic then.
