Revolutionary; A Pokemon RP (private with theJozza)
Julian, a tall Lucario, currently standing around 8"3', though formerly 4"3, before having his size re-adjusted, strolled rather casually down the road of Petalburg. It wasn't recognizable, the revolution having left it... different. Pokemon centers became hospitals, to adjust the heights of pokemon for the purposes of caring for their former trainers, and for the trainers themselves, as the Human Adoption Agency sought to find them. That, however, was of little of his concern. He didn't really care for his newfound above-average (at least, for an upright "humanoid" pokemon) height, or minor veteran status, as a low-ranking officer in the short and swift takeover. No, tonight, he was finally going to do it. He was going to ask out the pokemon that saved his life, after being struck under the collapse of a falling building.
He walked into the nice, small, quaint restaurant, one that she had chosen, as a matter of fact. The almost clinical cleanliness of the place seemed oddly fitting, due to her former position, as a renowned medic.
"So," He said, blushing as he walked toward the Delphox's table, recognizing her almost instantly, "I guess I get the opportunity to save you, this time... Though, we're certainly not even, it'd just be from the check."

Meryl chuckles and looks up at him with a warm smile. "You fighting types, always taking things so seriously," She stands up and hugs him. "I didn't agree to this so I could get some sort of return payment, I did it because I wanted to see you again." The Delphox is equal in height to him, unusual for her typing and species. Her fur is pristine and while she isn't wearing much clothing, she does have on some nice jewelry. "Now come on sit down. I want to hear all about what you've been up to since we last saw each other."

Julian returned the hug almost immediately, remembering the warmth of her embrace.
"I have no doubt," He said, sitting back down, and blushing, a little bit, "It's just, I feel like there's something owed, y'know? Maybe you don't... I dunno, I just feel like, you deserve to be paid back."

"And you don't?" Meryl asks, raising an eyebrow. "I seem to remember that you were under that rubble because you held the structure up yourself while over a dozen of your comrades got to safety. That's not nothing dear." She says, as their conversation continues a Mr. Mime comes with a couple of water glasses, basket of bread, and two menus.

"It's not about logic," Julian says, picking up the menu, as well as a chunk of bread, "It's about the way I feel... You were really nice to me back there, in a way I hadn't felt in the years I was just serving, after my trainer's pokemon were liberated. I'd like you to know I'm thankful for that."

"I know you are," Meryl replies with a grin. After eating a piece of bread herself, she crosses her hands and leans forward. "But enough of the past for now. How have you been? Are you planning on staying here in Petalburg? Any new work opportunities. I want to know it all."

"Well, I discovered that my deed might have surpassed me," Julian said, chuckling a bit, before blushing, "And, next thing I know, some Gallade general is shaking my hand, and giving me a medal. Came with a pretty hefty pension, too. I was told, despite your very best efforts, I don't appear to be in any condition to fight, or really even work again, so... they gave me something to make up for that. Best thanks I've gotten in a while, honestly... And, of course I'm staying! Or... going... Whichever you'd rather do, honestly... So... uhhh... how about you?"

Meryl's smile fades as she hears him describe his physical state. "I was worried that would be the case," She sighs and reaches over to take his hand, but his slight stammer makes her smile again. "Well as a doctor it is my professional opinion that it would be best if you stayed here. Also, you should consider moving in with another pokemon while you complete your full recovery. Perhaps someone you know," she starts leaning in closer, until her face is almost touching his. "Perhaps a trained medical professional with a big house all to herself and would like to share it with a strong, brave, kind hearted, and handsome Lucario?" With the last word she kisses his cheek.

"I-I... Of course..." Julian looked back at her, their wet noses practically touching, her gaze and smile intoxicating, as she leaned over to peck him, "I-I... I would love to... You don't know how much I would... Th-Thank you..."
He waited for the waiter to return, practically stammering his order for a sandwich.

Meryl smiles and orders a salad. "No thank you Julian," She says, taking both of his hands in hers. "You don't know how much this means to me." She keeps holding his hands and gazing into his eyes, only letting go once their food arrives. "Well let's hurry up and enjoy," she says, and then gets a mischievous grin. "By the way, would you like to get dessert here? They're divine, but I do think I could get something better once we get back to OUR home." She adds with a wink.
