Fareeha got everything ready for her mother’s arrival. She cleaned the house, stocked up on food, had a bunch of ideas on where to go together, overall she was excited. It has been 13 months since they last saw each other since her mother is always so busy on missions, but this time she was scheduled to stay for six whole months! She did one last sweep to make sure everything is okay and awaited her mother’s arrival.

Ana came home sighing as she looked over the tablet she held in her hands, another mission and she'd have to leave for it tomorrow, it came out of the blue and despite her best efforts it landed in her lap. With a heavy heart and worry Ana made her way to the living room to sit and rest, before she had to tell her sweet daughter the bad news.

Fareeha’s heart stopped. It felt like time stopped when her mother said that. “So…what? You aren’t leaving now are you??!” Fareeha asked with a lump in her throat. Tears threatened to fall out her eyes, but she held it together.

"I have to leave for it tomorrow...I don't want to but they need me" she tried to explain, knowing well her daughter needed her too. It hurt her heavily that she couldn't stay with her Daughter, but Ana knew her missions were important to the world.

“You can’t do this to me! Not again!” Fareeha yelled as tears rolled down her face. “You have kept doing this for my entire life, and I am tired of it!” Her voice was getting tired. “The one time that I hold out hope that I could spend at least one month- one month- with you, and it is just taken away!”
Fareeha eyed the sleep dart that her mother placed near by the entrance. ‘No. I mustn’t.’ she thought.

Ana got up and tried to hold her daughter close, trying to show she cared "I know, I didn't want to take this but it's a mission where they need a sniper, and I'm the only one on the team, I want to stay, I want to enjoy my time with you, but I got this last minute...I don't want to do this"

Fareeha sobbed into her mother’s shoulder. ‘This isn’t fair, it never has been fair, she always does this…’ Fareeha‘a mind was frantic. In her frantic state of mind, Fareeha discreetly reached for the sleep dart.
“I don’t want to do this either…” Fareeha said as she shot a sleep dart into Ana as they hugged.
