It was a day like any other in the city. Cars roam the streets, adults work and children play. Nothing out of the ordinary ... except for 2 hedgehogs who can't stand being around each other waiting together.

Sonic and Shadow are in the house that the blue hedgehog shares with his little brother, Tails. The reason for this, a silly bet that arose out of an equally silly discussion. Now both hedgehogs would spend a weekend taking care of a child to show who is the best. In fairness, this is not the most ridiculous thing they have done.

"This is ridiculous, I can't believe I have to waste my time watching a child to prove I'm better than you." Shadow complained, he knew he was better than Sonic, so why did he have to spend his time proving through ridiculous ways that he was superior, that blue hedgehog was just too stubborn to give up.

"Come on don't be that way Shads, you can always just back out if you're scared you're gonna lose, we already know I'm going to win this so you might as well drop out now!" Sonic said in response, with a smirk on his face. The blue hedgehog also confident that he was the best here.

"I'm not going to lose! It's you that should be scared! Compared to anything else I've done babysitting this kid should be a piece of cake! Then you'll finally see who's the best, faker!"

"Hah, in your dreams! You'll be eating those words at the end of this weekend!" Sonic retorted back, keeping up their argument while they were waiting.

The bell at the front door rings, it seems that the child has arrived. When opening the door the hedgehogs would find something very different.

On the other side of the door is a huge adult gorilla, with huge muscles and a penetrating gaze. Someone quite intimidating to see even from afar.

"That must be the kid now! Race ya to the door slow poke!" Sonic exclaimed, taking off towards the door before he had even fully finished his sentence.

Shadow immediately went after him, "Slowpoke!? Coming from the one who just pulled a cheap move to win!"

Scrambling over each other to get to the door, Sonic managed to open it, expecting to see the kid they were supposed to watch, but only seeing the gorilla. "Oh uh, hi there you're not who I was expecting, do you uh need something?" Sonic asked, having expected the kid to be at the door and not this gorilla.

A small white monkey peeks out shyly behind the gorilla's legs. He's a pretty adorable kid actually. He wears a yellow short-sleeved shirt, green pants, and an orange hooded vest. But besides that he wears a technological gauntlet on his left hand.

"This is my grandson, Mickey. And this ..." The gorilla pulls a bazooka pointing at both hedgehogs. "... it's my bazooka. Take good care of my grandson and you won't have to meet ammunition or a good doctor." The gorilla threatened coldly and seriously.

The two hedgehogs noticed the white monkey peek his head out from behind the big gorilla, them both giving a small sigh of relief that the large gorilla wasn't the kid they would be watching. The relief only lasted a brief moment before the gorilla had then pulled out their bazooka to point it at the two of them.

"W-we will! We'll do a excellent job no doubt about it! Y-you won't have to worry about him at all he'll be in good hands!" Sonic quickly stammered out, not wanting to incur the wrath of the gorilla and their bazooka.

"I-I'm the ultimate lifeform, if I can't do something as simple as take care of a kid then I would deserve to be shot by you. He'll be just fine I guarantee it." Shadow sputtered out as well.

"They better be." The gorilla says with a growl withdrawing the deadly weapon and looking at the little monkey. "If something happens remember, hit the center of the body." After that "friendly" advice the intimidating gorilla retired to his truck.

"I'm sorry for my grandfather, he's ... Very protective in his own way." Mickey said and then focusing on Sonic, for being the more nervous of the two hedgehogs. "I know that was very intimidating, I won't think ill of you if you have to change your underwear now." He said hinting that Sonic might have had an accident out of fear.

Both the hedgehogs gulped in response, hoping they wouldn’t end up on the wrong side of the bazooka.

Once the grandfather gorilla was gone, the two were relieved he and his weapon were gone, the threat of being shot gone for the time being.

“W-what!? Of course I don’t need to change my underwear! It takes a lot more than that to make me have a accident!” Sonic quickly exclaimed in response, he couldn’t believe the kid would think he would lose control of his body so easily.

“Wouldn’t have surprised me if you had needed to change, sometimes I swear you act like a big baby.” Shadow said, deciding to chimed in with words of his own.

“I do not! You’re just jealous that I’m better than you. But that’ll be proved later, after I do a great job watching the kid.” Sonic snapped back.

“As if. If I know you, you’ll do a terrible job, and I’ll be the one to clean up your mistakes and show you that I’m the best.” Shadow said, still quite determined to beat the blue hedgehog.

"My name is Mickey." The little white monkey said puffing out his cheeks a bit trying to look annoyed, it's not working, he still looks very cute. Neither of them seem to have anything in common for being a grandson and grandfather, not even the species.

Mickey listened attentively to the discussion between the hedgehogs, while still at the entrance of the house. "I'm not sure what they want to prove with babysitting, although I don't really need a babysitter." He said the last part between his teeth. "But they're both doing a bad job if we don't even get into the house." The boy said pointing out the mistake of both teenagers.

While the two hedgehogs had been arguing, they missed most of what Mickey had said, Sonic catching the last part about them not having gotten into the house.

"I was getting to that! We would have been in already if somme people weren't so jealous of my skills." Sonic said, looking at Shadow as he spoke. "But enough of that let's get inside!" the blue hedgehog continued, ushering the other two into the house.

"I'm not jealous! I already know I'll probably just end up babysitting both of you." the other hedgehog responded back as he entered the house.

"Psh, sure you will, we'll see about that. For now, how about we actually do our job?" Sonic said, looking towards Mickey. "Alright kiddo what do you wanna do first?"
