A Swimmer's Little Baby (A Private Danganronpa RP)

Aoi took a breath in, shaking the jitteriness from her hands as she exhaled it out. Normally she was rarely the type to get this nervous, but... Today was different. Today, she wanted to talk with her best friend, Shuichi, about something that could easily make or break their friendship. Ever since they began to grow close, Aoi got to witness firsthand at the amount of work Shuichi had to do as a detective. It looked like a lot, but it was impressive, and she was of course proud of him for working so hard!

As time went on, though, it was clear this hard work was becoming less of arming his talent and more... Well, becoming a burden. Yet, no matter how many times she gently poked him to take a break, he insisted it was fine. Granted, she's never force him to quit, but jeez, he has days off for a reason!

So Aoi slowly and quietly put a plan together to help Shuichi, a plan that would help him relax and, hopefully, take some of the stress from his adult life. Standing in front of his front door, Aoi knocked on the door gently, moving her hand back to holding on a large, light blue box as she waited for a response.

"Shu-chi! Are you free for a bit? I have something to talk to you about real quick."

Shuichi had been working on one of many cases he was currently assigned to when he heard a knock on his door. It startled him slightly, but as soon as he heard Aoi's voice he managed to calm down, realizing that it was just his friend. The Ultimate Detective had been feeling extremely on edge as of late, mostly due to how much he would devote himself to his work. He loved being a Detective, but sometimes it was just too much, and this was one of those times.

Shuichi begrudgingly got up from his desk, knowing that every second spent not working now would mean that he would have to make up for it later, and walked over to the door. As he opened it, he could see Asahina standing right across from him in her usual casual outfit, holding some kind of box in her hands. He responded to her greeting with one of his own. "Hey, Hina. I can't really say that I am free right now, I'm sure you know how time-consuming work can be for me sometimes. Still, I can talk. What was it you needed me for?"

Aoi deflated a bit hearing he was, in fact, busy. Well, it wasn't much of a surprise at this point, but hopefully that could change today... Not letting her disappointment show, she smiled warmly to Shuichi.

"Yeah, I figured... That's what I wanted to talk to you about, actually. Do you think you can take a quick break so we can chat a bit? Or I can hang around and wait until you're done. It's nothing serious, and I promise it'll be quick!" She pleaded with him. Of course, she'd back off if need be, but Aoi hoped he would at least consider it.

Shuichi briefly pondered Aoi's offer for a moment, briefly weighing the pros and cons of detaching himself from his work for a moment. Ultimately, however, he realized that he owed it to his friend to at least talk with her a bit, and it shouldn't impact him too negatively. "Uh, sure, come on in!" He told her, and stepped back so that the swimmer could enter into his apartment.

Saihara also wondered to himself what could possibly be in the box she had with her, given that it was the only thing she had brought. He didn't notice any movement coming from inside, so at least whatever was in there wasn't living, but the detective just couldn't guess at what it was. Ah, well, she would probably reveal it soon, he supposed.

Grinning brightly, Aoi skipped right into Shuichi's place, walking into the living room area of the apartment and sat the blue box down onto a chair. With it's lack of movement or holes, it was safe to say there wasn't any pets or creatures in it... And yet, that still left many other possibilities as to what it could be.

Aoi sat herself down onto the couch, allowing for Shuichi to choose wear he wanted to sit before she would begin their conversation.

Shuichi elected to sit down at a chair to the side of the couch, thinking that sitting on the couch itself next to Aoi might be too intimate. He could sense the Ultimate's excitement, fueling his own curiosity even further. Deciding that the best way to find out what she wanted was to just ask, he did exactly that.

"So, erm, Asahina. What was it that you wanted to talk with me about? I'm all ears!" Then, as the detective got another glance at the box she held, he spoke up again. "Oh, and uh, what's in that box you've got with you? Seems like it has some kind of importance." Throughout all of this, there was still the nagging voice in the back of his head telling him that he didn't have any time for this, and he needed to get back to work, lest it all pile up. He tried not to listen to it, but it still didn't alleviate the concerns that he had something he needed to be doing.

Once Shuichi had settled into his seat, Aoi took a deep breath in before beginning to speak.

"Well... I suppose I should start by saying this. I love you.. as a friend," She chuckled. "and you're really really amazing. I'm not mad or irritated with you, I just wanted to say this because... I'm worried about you. I know detective work is important and all, but you work a lot. Like, twenty-five hours eight days a week lot!" Aoi exclaimed. An exaggeration, she admitted, but was it completely wrong?

"I know you just want to make the people around you proud, but seriously, seeing you stress yourself out about it makes me stressed out! The last thing I want happening to you is you passing out from exhaustion, or worse!" She sighed, fidgeting with her jacket zipper.

"So... I came up with an idea to help you. You work so hard to take care of everyone, so I want to take care of you in return. I, uh... I'll admit, this idea sounds silly on the surface, but researching it, I truly do think it can help you! So... How does being an adult baby sound?" She quickly said, holding her breath to see Shuichi's reaction.

Shuichi stared at her in confusion, not quite sure what it was she was proposing. "An adult baby?! What would that even look like?" He tried not to sound too harsh in his response, but a certain incredulousness in his tone was inevitable. Images flashed in his mind of himself in a thick diaper being carried around by Asahina, and it caused his face to blush.

"Look, I appreciate you being concerned for me here, but I really don't see how this will help. It feels like it'd be a source of humiliation more than anything else, no offense." The detective elaborated, this time gentler than with his initial reaction. At first, he had suspected that Aoi might've been joking with him, but one look at the earnestness in her eyes quickly disproved that theory.

"Yeah! Like- it's a whole thing apparently." Aoi would explain, "A lot of people said they found it helpful for relieving stress, or reconnecting with their childhood by getting to just be a kid again. It's pretty interesting!"

Yet, seeing Shuichi decline the idea, she frowned.

"I know... It sounds silly, but I promise it won't be that bad! Sure, the diaper thing may take some getting used to, but it's not like everyone is gonna know. Think of it as our little secret when I come over to visit." She giggled. "Besides, I wouldn't keep you like that forever, just enough until we can get your overworking under control."

Shuichi pondered over the offer. On the one hand, this entire thing sounded completely ridiculous, and wearing a diaper and being treated like a baby by his close friend seemed like it'd be an extremely awkward and humiliating experience. On the other hand, the thought of having to shoot down Asahina like this when she'd been so enthusiastic about it made him frown, and if what she said was true then this would be a good chance to de-stress and take his mind off of work for a while.

He sighed, realizing which choice he was about to make. Shuichi could hardly believe he was doing this, and it was difficult to get the words out to Aoi, but eventually he was able to give her his decision. "Alright, alright, fine. I'll try out this adult baby thing you want me to do, or whatever it is. I just hope it works, like you say."
