Dreamchasers: Out of this World

Dreamchasers: Heroes of Magic was an award winning cartoon about a team of superpowered anthro animals who protected the world from evil.

In the season finale, the Dreamchasers finally discovered the lair of the wicked Doctor Darkly Nefarious after tracking a stolen shipment of rare McGuffinite metal. They were stationed on top of a hill overlooking the mountain fortress.

Inky, a chameleon and the spy of the team, slithered back into their base. "The Doctor's got these wells pulling up heat from the earth's mantle," he said. "Whatever she's doing, it's taking a lot of energy. We need to move in now." The coloration on his back rippled, displaying a chart. "I tracked the guard rotations. Our best chance is coming up soon. This is it, fellas. Time to save the world."

Sprocket, a Secratary bird that was also the team's tech guy, looked over at Inky. "Well, from the sound of it, we're probably going to be dealing with a lot of security." He said as he got up from the chair he sat in. "Maybe I could do something about that so that we can bypass her security and go straight to her."

The third member of the Dreamchasers was known as Hopper. She was the highly agile person of the and also a hare. "So, when we get to her, do we have any kind of plan? Sometimes tells me this won't be easy for us at all, and it's only going to get more difficult if we don't even have a plan when we get there." She said.

Inky didn't understand all this technology stuff, but Sprocket did, and he trusted him. "Whatever you can do, you do," he told him. "And we don't have a plan, unless you'd like to suggest one, Hopper. We don't know what she's building in there, but whatever it is we need to stop it. Once we figure out what she's building, that's when we make the plan." He cracked his knuckles and tested his grip on his quarterstaff, his weapon of choice. "You all ready to save the world?"

Both of his teammates simply nodded at him, confirming that they were indeed ready to save the very world they lived on. Hopper simply got her power gloves ready, which were sitting on a table. Meanwhile, Sprocket got his tech gauntlet ready. He also wore some goggles too, which were necessary for his line of work.

"So, are we moving by air or are we going to stay on the ground?" Hopper asked as she adjusted her gloves slightly.

Inky cracked his knuckles, and his scales rippled again, turning deep black. "Sprocket, do you think you can drop me behind enemy lines? There's a side entrance used for deliveries. I'll take out the guard there and open it up for you. That's our best shot to get it. What do you say?" As much of a bravado as Inky put off, he wasn't the leader. Something like this had to be a team decision.

Sprocket looked up in thought as he stood there with one hand resting on top of his gauntlet. Then he nodded. "That could work. All I would have to do is get inside and disable any sort of security. After that, you and Hopper can go right in without having to put up too much effort to avoid trouble. No cameras, traps or turrets. You'll only have the guards to worry about."

The plan went off without a hitch. Sprocket flew over the compound, dropping Inky into an atrium. Inky used his camouflage to sneak through the building, taking out several guards and opening up a side door for the rest of his team. Once inside, Sprocket hacked and disabled the security systems while Hopper and Inky covered him. From there, it was a rush to the center of the building, where Doctor Nefarious was building... something.

They emerged in a large underground bunker, where the evil Doctor stood before an enourmous metal ring that stood on end, mounted in the middle of the room. As they burst through the door, she turned and scowled. "You're too late!" she announced triumphantly. "I have an army prepared to march on countless worlds, as soon as the portal is finished charging! Congratulations, Dreamchasers! You've saved this world and in the process secured my dominion over countless others!"

Oh, well this looked kind of bad since they were probably on some sort of time limit here to stop things from going down the drain. Sprocket stood there, searching around a bit for something he could possibly use to prevent this from occurring. A console or anything connected to this or maybe some exposed wires!

"I wouldn't count on that, Nefarious!" Hopper said as she decided to go straight in for the doctor, as bad of an idea that may have been. She didn't care though because something obviously needed to be done before she got any closer to spreading her rule over anything else.

Meanwhile, Sprocket looked to Inky and said, "I'm going to look for way to slow down that things charge. Think you can protect me if anything goes wrong?"

Inky nodded. When it came time for battle, he wasn't much of one for speaking, preferring to speak the language of his fists. But his teammates would always have his back. He scanned the area, looking for anything that might help them. And indeed, there appeared to be a control panel for the device, but it was up on an elevated platform, and there were several guards protecting the access ladder.

Doctor Nefarious wasn't as good of a fighter as Hopper, but she figured she could stand her own, at least for a little while. After all, she only needed to distract them while the machine finished charging. She leaped out of the way, barely landing on her feet. "You're too slow!" she taunted Hopper. "I thought rabbits were supposed to be fast?"

"Even if I am slow, I am still faster than you!" And then Hopper did what her name suggested. It wasn't a tiny "hop" but more of these long distance leap that would easily close the gap between her and Nefarious. Once she was close, she had her hands outstretched to grab on to her so this time she wouldn't get away if she got a hold on her...

It took Sprocket a little longer to notice the control panel and an elevated platform. He certainly noticed all the guards though and looked to inky. "Think you can handle them?" He asked Inky. Sprocket wasn't a fighter by any means. He can fight, but he really had to rely on that gauntlet of his to do any of the work for him.
